MagnaFlo Muffler

Local shop ran pipes from stock catalytic converters direct to muffler. Sounded awful, really loud and raspy. Put a couple of turbo packs in front of the muffler and improved sound 100%. Nice bark when you mash the go pedal and a nice rumble at idle and low throttle. No droning and totally unobtrusive at highway speed cruising. Total cost $870.00.

Should have ran pipes from the cats directly past the muffler and just deleted it completely. That's what I did and it sounds amazing. Strait pipes with the stock muffler = worst rasp ever.

Hmm..that still sounds pretty raspy. Try taking the muffler off completely and see how you like the sound. If you like it get some AAM shorty pipes  Here's the idle on mine. Sorry it's the only video I have and the quality is iphone haha. I'll take some more tomorrow if I remember.

Sounds pretty good at idle. I'm surprised it sounds that good with no muffler.

You're not going to see any major gains because the stock cats are very restrictive, suggest you get a set of hi-flow cats. I did the straight pipes to the muffler setup, it yielded gains but then again I had long tube headers as well. However, it sounded extremely raspy, "tinny," and while it was loud it sounded like a lawnmower on steroids. I would definitely like to hear how it sounds without the muffler, Flush...got any vids?

All I have is that idle vid I posted. I'll try to get some tomorrow.

Maybe I'm the only one but I think Zeek's system didn't sound bad at all.. that being said there are a few options for full stainless exhausts around that price that I would have considered first but it def doesn't sound like a bad setup to me.

NYBladeZ 02-15-2012 10:47 PM

The Z is quiet at idle, it sounds bad as you get on it.
