I think the guy said he was going out of the country for a week and wouldnt be able to have full test and dyno until he got back.

I agree, except that it doesn't matter if it makes power for me. It just has to be leak free and strong. Gotta ditch the plastic plenum for good! the only other option is Kinetix and they are holding out.

is this different than the Motordyne part? obvi i know this is gtr and the motordyne is an HR, i mean as an option compared to the kinetix?

Kinetix made one and it was sold for a very short time. They have redesigned it, but not released anything. I am looking to replace the plastic plenum. I currently have the M370 from Motordyne. It is nice, but doesn't fit my needs. How long will a plastic plenum hold up to 8-12 PSI (or more for that matter). This is why this man's work is so important with producing a lower manifold adapter to fit the GT-R manifold to the Z/G.

This may be a bling item for most, but it is damn near a necessity for me. And it seems this will be available before Kinetix gets it together again.............take it for what it's worth.

Do we know if the plastic plenum failing is really an issue? Plenty of OEM turbo vehicles have used them without issue. Granted, they were originally designed for boost, but it may be a little premature to say plenum failure is something to worry about. That being said, I can't wait for someone to slap this manifold on a turbo car and see what it can do.

N0SL3N 05-10-2013 09:10 AM

I highly doubt the plastic plenum will fail. Even 20 PSI is not that much pressure for the plastic and all OEM parts are designed with a large safety factor.

Staying on topic however; I am really interested to see what this does in the performance department as it is already a huge improvement in the looks department.

KaienZ34 05-10-2013 09:13 AM

I want to see it on a boosted Z with a built motor, any takers??

N0SL3N 05-10-2013 09:15 AM

Maybe Mr Squeeze would give it a go. I think he pushes 19 psi.

Thats exactly the information i was looking for on why this would be such an increase over something like the motordyne... Thank you.

The kinetix was just pretty if I remember correctly they didn't do any real flow or dyno testing. At least not before last years Zdayz when I talked to them about it, as they had their test z out there with it and it was SC'ed I think. One way or the other the car looked like sh1t with a ton of stick on body crap but the intake sure was pretty.
