Need help for my exhaust (2nd hand 370Z)

Hi,

I just bought a second hand 370Z from December 2010, 11000KMs. It was from a dealership which installed a NAP exhaust and the dealer offered me that (normally he should have put back the original exhaust).

The thing is I have a remote for that exhaust (apparently) but don't know what is it for

Here is a picture, can someone explain me the buttons, especially the "F"? Can it be operated during driving, engine ON, OFF, ... ?

Thanks!

The remote is for opening the exhaust's valve. If you open it, the sound will be more loud.

Thanks. That's strange, the sound seemed more loud when I clicked the lock (closed).
Any idea about the F?

It's possible that the solenoid or actuator is wired backwards. No problem other than the buttons being reversed. I've never even heard of NAP exhausts, so idk what that "F" is for. All of their literature is in German which doesn't make it easy

Hey wtf. You stole my name. >=(

But yeah, I'd imagine it's a valve remote control. It may sound a little louder depending on where in the exhaust the valve is closing. Sometimes backpressure actually increase volume of an exhaust and its resonance - one of the reasons 350Zs sounded so burly and our stock 370Zs didn't.

Hey Arnold K, sorry if we both have an awesome name :-)

Thanks for your answers, I'll contact NAP about this F button... But anyways it's a massive sound when it's locked/open!

So happy with my purchase :)

Yeah, if it's a massive sound difference, then Vivid may be right - it could just be wired backwards. The best way to tell is to see if you can look down the pipes and see the valve.

Regarding the "F" button, they answered me: "this button was not used by ourselves and you are free to programme with it".
Don't really see how though :-) Would be nice to program it for my garage door, no clue if that's possible.
