Don't know what to do.

guys i've been trying to decide what exhaust to get i have been debating for 3 months now and finally gonna buy one but still don't know what to choose fast intentions and ark are out of the question i want something with burnt tips was thinking invidia but fear it might be to to quite what do i do......?:ughdance:

Get a meisterschaft, the sound will get you over the lack of burnt tips and they offer a matte black tip option.

options are slim if you want burnt tips. I only know of invidia and HKS. I'd go with invidia and pair it with HFC/test pipes if u want it louder.

Rooskey 10-18-2011 12:38 AM

Both HKS and Invidia only use piping that is only 2.36 inches not 2.5. Not sure if you really care but just thought id throw that out there. Plus im sure that is the OD measurement and not the ID so its probably really like a 2.25 inch exhaust system. Hope this helps you. Good luck

i've got the F.I. and i'd go with that and forget about the burnt tips.

Burnt tips:

HKS (optional)
Amuse
Zele
Invidia
ARK

If you want something NOT quiet... get any of these. They are all going to be louder than most, especially with test pipes.

IMO burnt tips = cheesy... go for sound/performance but to each his own.

:iagree:

If you want burnt tips, just take a blue sharpie to any that don't come with them. Honestly that feels more ricy to me than a slight raspy exhaust. But again, to each his own...

Basically you need to rank what is most important to you from these:

Looks
Cost
Performance
Resale value
Road Clearance
Sound

Once you know which is most important, you can get a better idea of which ones suit you. And I know you may like burnt tips, but you might end up selling yourself short getting an exhaust based on looks alone, and not getting the sound you want.

Lastly, If the exhaust itself isn't the volume you want, you can always look into HFC's or Test Pipes, or ART Pipes, or even headers... as previously mentioned. So don't think the exhaust Alone is going to free up volume.

We have all gone through these same debates over exhausts, so you know what it's like being in that "I don't know what to do!" mode... So no reason to attack.

Now if he was asking what sort of Oil would be best, well... there's only 7 million threads on that, so obviously he didn't use the search feature. :shakes head: Flame On! :rofl2:

That's because he's a gentleman and a scholar.

^^^ Nice. Lol. ^^^

I would say attend a couple of meets and hear some of exhausts in person.

djpathfinder 10-18-2011 11:33 PM

I agree with what XwchriswX said in post #8.

I've been happy with Invidia. It's probably one of the quieter ones, but believe me, it's not quiet, especially with HFC's. I wouldn't want it louder than what it is. Perfect tone and volume without being obnoxious.
