Power Loss after HKS Exhaust.
I recently added 4.08's/g3's and hks exhaust...and it seems faster than when i had just testpipes and it SHOULD be faster but for some reason it feels sluggish after i installed the exhaust...is it because i need a tune? or would i need more back pressure from the exhaust?

If you had test pipes already, the gains are not as noticeable after the exhaust install. There's no way that you gained no power at all. Expectations are high when you add an exhaust... remember that all mods run together. The first mod always adds the most noticeable gain, the other mods just go along with it. I think a tune would likely help.

I had test pipes as my first mod as well by the way.... when I added my exhaust I didn't notice a huge pull either... in upper rpm areas you may notice it more.
Also... make sure you check everything over for leaks and such just to be sure that's not an issue.... and tighten the bolts several times over 300-400 miles. |
The butt dyno is unreliable... that said, you probably would benefit from a tune.
If you want recommendations for a tuner in the general area, shoot me a PM. Also... any CEL's from the test pipes...? |
You need a tune. Text me.
