Those look really nice, George! What kind of gains can one expect from them?
|
Thank you, the gains will be the same as our previous test pipes, since the resonator we use is pass through (won't create any back pressure).

Hey these look pretty damn nice!
Pictures + Dyno + Decent price = Good Job Sir. Im going to be looking for test pipes soon. Waiting on sound clip differences between resonated and non. |
We haven't had a G with stock exhaust with these on yet but a customer of ours is going to be installing these pretty soon, I will link the vid when available.
Thanks guys! |
Sorry to be a pest George, but what type of steel are these made out of?
|
Keeping this in mind!
|
Does this come with the O-ring gasket?

Also, I'm sure you've heard that 2k-3k rasp/flutter from the test pipes...How well do these pipes dampen that noise compared to say, the HFCs ?? |

George, can you answer my last question about the rattling...and I have one more...
Do these things really go bad ? I mean, I was told by a 350z guy who said he went thru a couple of sets in his 5 years with the car because they went bad...(not sure who's he was using) - So if true, is there some sort of maintenance to prevent stuff like that from happening ? |
Ferris...Bueller...Anyone Anyone?
George check your PMs - Get at me! I need to know this info based on your experiences and I have the money ready to put down... |
I don't see how a test pipe can "go bad". Yes, a weld can break - that happens to both TP's and HFC. But the test pipes are literally straight pipes - there is nothing in there. There is no "brick" or substrate like a HFC - so there is nothing to blow out or "go bad'.
|
No, its not JUST a test pipe...its resonated, hence why I ask if they find that the resonated part goes bad quicker than say a HFC...
|
But a resonator is still just expanded tubing, is it not? The thing is still hollow.
|
Is it? I dont know? I thought it had some sort of mesh in that expanded area...If thats the case than ya other than the welds there wouldnt be anything that goes bad...
I need confirmation from GTM |
I had Kinetix resonated test pipes on my 350 and it was hollow. Basically it's just a hollow chamber to allow sound to . . . well . . . resonate. But yeah, we should let George confirm.
|
Correct it is hollow, no performance decrease from a regular test pipe, just better sound!

Great !
Sorry t-ray I thought it had something in the expanded portion! I stand corrected... George, I'll like to order a set...just confirm with my PM...and I didnt mean FREE or anything! Incase thats what you thought :) |

So I fitted my resonated tp's today. And I can't see how anyone could reuse the ring gasket for the header flange. It simply does not fit over the male part of the gtm flange due to the diameter being larger. I have both brand new rings from nissan and the used ones from stock. And both do not fit. I used ultra copper liquid gasket by permantex. Fingers crossed it doesn't leak. I know this thread is old but I feel my experience should be notes for interested tp buyers. |
