CNT vs Berk hfc?? this is killing me!

hello guys,
I want to buy hfc but which one?!! CNT or Berk?!!! CNT is like $100 cheaper but I don't know about the quality and sounding compare to Berk hfc. I need some recommendations from you guys! Please someone answer! :tiphat: (I love Berk's that deep sound :) )

TonyBPD 08-14-2011 01:39 PM

Motordyne ART pipes!

dudesky 08-14-2011 01:41 PM

bro! too expensive! haha :)

Dzel 08-14-2011 01:44 PM

I have the CNT granted I never tried or heard the Berk's I love my TP's. Brings my stock exhaust to life. Will leave you wanting more though. You have been warned!!!:happydance:

daisuke149 08-14-2011 02:03 PM

perhaps.. wait and see which one comes at a better opportunity. Someone may have one for sale soon or someone puts on a sale etc. Labor day is right around the corner.

stells370 08-15-2011 07:39 AM

i bought my cnt hi-flow cats from a member on here for $150 shipped with only 600 miles on them and couldnt be happier with the quality/sound/price . so much so i went with their exhaust and am comletely satisfied with that to!!

im not knocking berks from all the reviews they seem awesome i can only comment on my experiences

Dzel 08-15-2011 07:56 AM

I was thinking of going with their exhaust but I haven't seen any dyno numbers. Do you like the look it gives the rear end?

dudesky 08-15-2011 08:49 AM

hey ppl with CNT hfc, I just ordered cnt too and concern of getting CEL. any experiences with having CEL anyone?? I heard that CEL from HFC is just nothing, you just gotta remove it and no problem. true?? :(

stells370 08-15-2011 08:50 AM

love the look of the exhaust i have a few pics in my album

dudesky 08-15-2011 12:53 PM

alot of the TP / HFC come with extended o2 bungs (BUNGS WOO love saying that word)

but in some cases you need to extend em further or go the steel wool route.

dudesky 08-15-2011 01:02 PM

oh s***...so you guys recommend me to order that extenders too??

daisuke149 08-15-2011 01:03 PM

well if you order them ahead of time and install em ahead of times its easier and possibly cheaper via labor.

but no one can really tell you 100% that you will need em. and no one can tell you 100% that you wont need em. : /

stells370 08-15-2011 01:09 PM

i order the extenders for like $15 off of ebay but while lurking around oreillys one day i seen a set called "spark plug extenders" same exact thing for like $4.99

dudesky 08-15-2011 01:09 PM

awwwwww damn! haha I hate this kind of situation! I hope it works well without them! :(

dudesky 08-15-2011 01:10 PM

so Stells, you recommend me to order "spark plug extenders" ??

dudesky 08-15-2011 01:20 PM

I found some 02 sensor extenders in Ebay.
O2 02 Oxygen sensor extenders 2 Test pipe HHO Hydrogen | eBay
Will this fit?? drilled out 1/2 in and are 18mm 02 sensor extenders. seems the right size.

daisuke149 08-15-2011 01:24 PM

hard to comment on an ebay item unless its one of the few rare reputable sellers and they are selling a reputable brand.

I do know for a fact the z1 extensions work and they are 35$. its not quite 9.99 but again :p your in the situation where its hard to really say 1 way or the other.

dudesky 08-15-2011 01:27 PM

Hey Daisuke, where can I buy that z1 extensions? I want to see the product :)

dudesky 08-15-2011 01:31 PM

I think what I will do is just install the hfc without the extenders, and if I'm fine with CEL, I will not buy extenders. what about that??

daisuke149 08-15-2011 01:32 PM

Z1 Oxygen Sensor Extension Bungs (Pair)

dudesky 08-15-2011 01:33 PM

so
ERZ performance CEL Eliminator Fix O2 Sensor Housing , Subaru WRX STI performance parts. Subaru Header Downpipe and Up pipe vs Z1 Oxygen Sensor Extension Bungs (Pair) ???????

daisuke149 08-15-2011 01:47 PM

I aint the expert on this one. the ERZ looks interesting. Installing it may be a pain since you gotta make sure that the direction you have it pointed, will also make it tight and then the o2 sensor can screw into that as well without interfering with the bracket or anything else. Thats what i would worry about. the HFC / Tp that already have the bend in it ussuall account for fitment when they design it, this would be a bit diff.

dudesky 08-15-2011 02:12 PM

so I think I should install it first and if it's fine, i won't have to buy extenders

daisuke149 08-15-2011 02:18 PM

might be the best way. if you plan on a tune get that too.

dudesky 08-15-2011 02:28 PM

ok thanks for the helps Daisuke. I really appreciated! :)

Dzel 08-15-2011 02:32 PM

Steel wool!!!! i have had mine for almost 1000 miles and no cel yet

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL haha

Methodical4u 08-15-2011 09:14 PM

Neither... get Motordyne's ART pipes... better gains than both and less noise and little to no rasp... i've been researching these and all other HFC's and TP's for a while now.
