Fang cover removal?

I know that the hose kit is available for this, but i'm just wondering if anyone has just taken the covers off for that little bit of extra air? I was going to when I changed my oil but I was a little worried about a rock or something coming through and hitting the oil cooler or something.

Most people that take these off are trying to make brake cooling duct mods... Haven't seen any real just plain air through mods on this. I would think you'd maybe want some sort of mesh material to keep out debris and rocks etc...

Hmmm... :icon08:

There is no significant benefit in removing the fang covers since the Z is not suffering from lack of air into the engine bay but won't hurt either.

that is what I was sort of thinking since the oil cooler is right there... I figured it may keep those temps down just a little more.

As I said, I was going to do the ram air hose kit, but I just felt it wasn't going to make that much of a difference when I get my G3's anyway.

I've taken them off just because I don't like the look of "fake ducts". They're just held on by a few screws on the backside of the bumper, so it wasn't exactly difficult to do.

no, it's not hard to do at all... and I almost did it when I was changing my oil, but just was worried that a rock might hit something or whatever I thought i'd ask around first.
