My rasp went away when I went aftermarket for the exhaust. It depends on the exhaust I guess but Hfc's have very little rasp on most aftermarket exhausts. test pipes, on the other hand, always have rasp.

check for exhaust leaks

havnt seen or heard a magna flow yet to really be able to say thats the culprit.

the rasp is coming from the BERK CATS only under hard throttle.are the cats devective maybe or is it normal with BERK HFC???

It is not just the HFCs. It has more to do with the cat-back as I have the 12" resonated FI exhaust behind my Berk HFCs and I have zero rasp. Other exhausts like the Invidia, Amuse, Greddy, and other exhausts also have no rasp with HFCs or test pipes either.

^^^so the plot thickens???do you have a Hiss at 1500-2000RPM,,,,maybe my mechanic overlooked something,,,the RASP is absolutely rediculous its ALL YOU HEAR at wot

It has a lot to do with the cat-back. There are a number of factors but the most important ones that affect sound are whether the exhaust has an x pipe or H pipe, resonators (size, shape and internal design), and the mufflers (size, shape, and internal design). After looking at some videos on youtube, the Magnaflow exhaust has a bit of rasp even with the stock cats and that rasp would only be amplified with HFCs or test pipes. Here is my FI exhaust with HFCs for reference, go to around 1:00 and the 3:00 minute marks for WOT runs:

removed the BERK CATS (FOR SALE BTW PM ME) and now there is no rasp and sounds amazing SO THE QUESTION IS WHAT CATS ARE people running on here with the magnaflow CATback??????? thanks for all the help i get here

Put a resonator somewhere in the mid pipe this will help because Magnaflow is known never to use a resonator.

Berks and magnaflows here with no rasp. My catback came with resonators though.
