okay don't rip on me too hard but...

okay I know megan exhaust are majorly looked down upon in the auto world, I have heard from many that they are cheap and not worth a damn. my question is, have any z owners tried out these or does anyone have experience with this exhaust brand... I am just looking to replace the mufflers and they have a very nice looking axle back online so it got me thinking...

please don't flame too hard as I have no real experience with this company

How much are you looking to spend?

I haven't seen any quality issues with Megan exhausts. It might not make the power that the other brands are making, but as far as quality I'd say you'd be ok.

You can get a topspeed exhaust for slightly more, and most reviews have been positive

ya this i know.... however i think for the time being, i am jsut looking to replace the mufflers. Cops around my are have been known to check for cats on vehicles and the stock resinaters could probably pass as cats at a quick visual inspection until i can get money saved up to do HFC's too. prolly not an entirely correct assumption of all cops car knowlege, but it would make me feel a little more comfortable

as long as you keep your stock cats the axel backs sound pretty good. I tried the megan with a bit of modification and ART pipes and my Z was waaaaay to loud and raspy

edub370 07-21-2011 11:35 AM

that is what i was afraid of. i already have test pipes so im thinkin that would prolly be too raspy

How much are you looking to spend? I'm sure we can find you an exahust that sounds good without breaking the bank.

Invidia catbacks are reasonably priced and sound great.

Search for the CNT exhaust, its an HKS replica since they went out of business. I was quoted for $500.
I hear its really awesome stuff for the money.

edub370 07-23-2011 11:32 AM

dang that CNT system looks great... might have to consider that
