Opinions on headers for 11 370z nismo

I have a 2011 370z nismo and im waiting for my AEM CAI to come in but i'm looking to get headers for it also. Right now im looking at Stillen, PPE, and F.I headers. However, i want headers that wont be too pricey and will have a nice sound with good gains. What are your opinions on which headers to go with?

SPOHN 06-02-2011 06:12 PM

I feel all headers make a nice sound. But if you want the gains, go with the long tube. FI seems to be the jack pot IMO. For what you'd get, the price is more than worth it. I'd like to have some. But not sure what direction I'm going in for the future. Ours cars are pretty sweet with all the basic NA mods and a tune. But going FI......thats another story.

omgZ 06-02-2011 06:17 PM

I know there were power losses when people tested the stillen headers, but does anyone know if a tune would have made a difference?

SPOHN 06-02-2011 06:20 PM

It would probably be mild.

Rooskey 06-02-2011 11:04 PM

If you price the stillen headers make sure you price some test pipes to go with them. Just get the F.I. or ppe if you want to be happy in the long run.

tgeorge33 06-03-2011 10:27 AM

so its between PPE headers and F.I. now my budget is about 1,800. should i just get the F.I. headers for like 1,200? or get the PPE for 750? those r the prices i found online... between these two what has the better sound and gain and what would you choose?

tgeorge33 06-03-2011 11:01 AM

oh and this is somewhat a random question but can a GTR exhaust system fit on the 370z?

Get the FI. From what I've seen here they make a great product with pride. Along with great customer service. Not saying the other company is bad.

really? then it must have been a custom exhaust cuz i saw a 350z on youtube with the quad exhaust like the GTR

ChipsWithDips 06-03-2011 01:05 PM

A lot of exhausts have two tips per muffler. I wouldn't really call that a quad exhaust though, it's just the tips.

tgeorge33 06-03-2011 01:47 PM

ya i just said tht cuz it looked like a GTR exhaust. it was sick looking. but if i can sell my Si cf hood and front and rear lips and my amp and subs ill prolli be able to buy the F.I. headers and id like to get the MXP CBE. it sounds amazing

tgeorge33 06-03-2011 06:52 PM

ill prolli just get the F.I. headers. i like the MXP exhaust but thats $1,850. Opinions on a Megan Racing CBE. i can get that for like $750

I'll answer for Tony on this one seeing as how I have a Nismo model as well. Yes, the F.I. headers fit the nismo, there's no difference regarding header install betwn 370z models so it'll be fine.

are u 100% sure? cuz the CAI's i just got dont fit so i gota send them back...

tgeorge33 06-04-2011 02:38 PM

if any of you can please send me a link for a intake and header that will 100% fit my 2011 370z nismo

F.I. headers 100% fit the Nismo, what intake did you order that do not fit?

1. heres the link to the one i ordered and got. it claims it will fit but when i took it to a shop to put it in he said it wouldnt fit. Amazon.com: AEM 41-1001C Cold Air Intake System: Automotive
2. heres a link to another one that says its for my nismo and only nismo models. outperformanceshop.com/product-p/aem-41-1002p.htm
they both seem the same but the only difference is
1. AEM 41-1001C Cold Air Intake System
2. AEM Intakes 41-1002P 2010 2011 Nissan 370z Nismo ETI Dual Cold Air Intake System Polished
Is there a difference between the 2?

As far as intakes go, I think Injen makes a Nismo specific/compatible one.

Or, youcould just go with k&n drop ins and HPS post maf tubes for almost the same gain as any CAI.

those were for the intake not the headers.... i realized they will fit since someone said that they will fit and that you have them on your cars as i noticed in your mod section..... so there is no need to freak out dude. relax

they replace the stock ridged hoses. I also threw in k&n air filters in the oem airboxes...granted it doesnt look as nice as the aem's but at a third of the price w/ the same results i'm a happy camper

kdo2milger 06-04-2011 11:14 PM

you'll have to remove the front bumper and re-locate the windshield wiper bottle with the one supplied w/ aem intakes...

i was just too lazy to take on the task...

the difference is in the mounting brackets

you can see it in the pics on their website

you might want to check into that before opening up the box

Edit: in looking at the two, they look exactly the same? weird...i could have swore they were different when i looked at them 2 weeks ago...

i would call AEM customer service on Monday to verify, they look to be the same according to the pics, but sometimes they don't always get that right...maybe the person in charge of the website posted the same pic for both model numbers...

tgeorge33 06-04-2011 11:48 PM

ok thanks dude. if i got anymore questions ill post them

if i do F.I. LTH, will they fit onto the stock nismo exhaust? or should i just do HFC?

So, I also got the F.I. CBE at the same time, was a nice weight savings too.

BTW, you won't need HFCs if you the the F.I. headers since they replace the stock exhaust manifolds AND the stock cats.

with my budget i wont have enough to get both F.I. LTH and CBE. So should i just do HFC? or stick with just getting the LTH?

ok. do you know if high flow cats would void the warranty on the car?

It will only void warranty on exhaust components should Nissan deemed that the aftermarket HFCs caused a failure on OEM parts.

It looks as if you are wavering back and forth between the HFCs & LTHs; you'll get more gains in terms of power from the latter and they are typically louder under WOT. The former is cheaper and get slightly less in terms of power I encourage to go through the Fast Intentions threads for the CBE & LTHs; most of your questions are fully answered there. :tiphat:

Looking to install headers on my 2016 FairladyZ NISMO, What are the best headers out there for street driving and novice street drag. I so far have liked what I hear about F.I Headers...Any suggestions.

Rusty 05-26-2016 09:17 PM

Your options are FI (which I have), Z1 shorties (they make good power), and PPE's (They're a good headers too). If you are installing the LTH's yourself. The right takes about 1.5 hrs. The left side takes about 6 hrs and lots of cussing.
