Any suggestions for Exhaust+Intake combo?

Hey, guys!
I have a quick question for everyone who is willing to help me out.

Here it goes:
I use my 7AT Z as a daily drive and planning to get my hands
on a set of exhaust and intake.

Any suggestions about what kind of combo i should get?

I know you may ask about what kind of price range i am talking about, but honestly, i have no idea.

Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for performance/exhaust note/looks?

In my case the sound of the exhaust is the most important

Personally I wouldn't spend the money on the intake -- from what I've read one here, the stock setup is very efficient. To me, why spend hundreds of dollars for a few HP? There is a setup using tubes and K&N filters that is maybe $200 or so all together.

As far as exhaust, I would go with fast intentions. But there are a lot of good ones out there. There are plenty of exhaust threads on here for you to take a look at..

:iagree: go with these (i got rid of my life sucking takedas and got the hps tubes) and fast intentions catback w/ no resonators

you will love the sound!

+1 for the post-MAF tubes. Add to that some K&N or AFE drop-in filters plus your exhaust of choice. I would do a search in this forum and on youtube for a general idea of sound. I went with the EBay y-pipe (Surewin) and Top Speed catback exhaust due to the fact that I didn't want it overly loud for my DD. I am very happy with the sound and affordability. It gave the car a nice kick in the pants performance-wise as well.

Hope this helps!!

HPS tubes or G3's for intake.

Exhaust is personal preference. Common choices that are safe are: Berk, Stillen, FI.

I personally run the Invidia Gemini and I am a big fan. It's not as loud as some of the other options, and has a more mature sound that still gets loud when you get on it. No rasp, and less drone than any other aftermarket option I have heard.

I can help you more if you know the sound you are looking for!

are you ready for his response?

if you want to spend a good amount of money on intakes, get the stillen g3s. if you dont then keep stock and get k&n drop ins. for exhuast, so many choices and they all give different sounds and so on and so forth. but i say fast intentions, stillen (hate the tips though)or greddy.

I can help you with both the exhaust and intakes. First and foremost, please check out my exhaust if you have not already:

Fast Intentions

http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...aust-here.html

Once you have a chance to see those links, you will notice we have many options to try and appeal to as many people as possible.

Now if you like what you see and would like to discuss it further than please do not hesitate to call me directly. If and when we talk on the phone, I will go over some intake recommendations that I have.

I look forward to hearing from you...

Thanks, Tony

Agreed on both.

I have Invidia now and it sounds fantastic, refined, and mature as you put it.

The invidia is the exhaust that should have come on the car from the factory IMO.

AlphaSnacks 05-31-2011 06:10 PM

I said the same. Maybe just a tad quieter for factory and general customer purposes...but yep. Still not sure how the 370Z sounds so lame stock compared to the 350Z.

We currently do not make a CAI for the car. However I can get any of the major brands.

Ingen, Stillen & drop ins.

AdamX 06-02-2011 10:09 PM

Sorry guys, i was away from home for a
couple days and thank you all for providing
me all the great feedbacks and opinions.
I found them really really helpful.

After doing a little bit research,
I think the G3 intakes is pretty good,
still looking for a good catback

Invidia Gemini+Stillen catback?
Is that a good combo?

AlphaSnacks 06-02-2011 11:09 PM

Err...you can't have two catback exhausts. Either pick the Gemini or Stillen.

Great. I was that clever to put two exhausts together.
:shakes head::shakes head:

Thanks for the correction, i thought Gemini was the intake.
any suggestions on G3 intake+either Gemini or Stillen?

Nismo221 06-03-2011 12:19 AM

Why does everyone seem to forget about Greddy exhaust? Go with the Greddy Ti-C they sound amazing.

Are they a lot more expensive than stillen?

G37sHKS 06-03-2011 06:30 AM

No, but they are 3x louder than stillen.

They run around $1,400 but I have seen them as low as $1,150 before.

From all the research, reading, and listening I did...I went with Invidia. Plus the price of the Stillen isn't exactly justified. Contact vendor FBNissan for the best quote on the Invidia and you'll understand why so many of us jumped on it.

Captainstevo 06-07-2011 05:24 AM

Check out my video of my recently installed FI exhaust w/ 18" resonators. Loving this thing so far!

why are more people not going with the top speed system? i mean it has hp gains same as all the rest and costs half the price

I've kinda wondered that myself.

I agree completely. Did the research, reading as well. Went with invidia plus stillen g3 for the same price as just the FI or stillen cbe. Jomer at FBnissan has the best prices even shipped to the west coast, pm him, you will be glad you did. Grab a 0% credit card for 12 months and it makes modifying a new car a no-brainer

AdamX 07-16-2011 10:47 PM

I had recently bought the Gen 3 Intakes+ Invidia Gemini Exhaust from FBNISSAN
pretty happy with the price and the customer services that Jomer provided.
