FYI K&N Typhoon
Just thought i would pass this info on. I purchased the K&N Typhoon from StreetSideAuto.com for on $295 shipped and it comes with free filter recharge kit. I haven't seen anyone price close to that. So i figured i pass this info on because i dont know how long the priced and free rechage kit will be.

good price, for good intakes.

Ordered mine two weeks ago from Amazon (listed at $320), signed up for free shipping using Amazon prime membership (canceled it within the month timeframe so there will be no future charges), used my Amazon points from my Amazon chase credit card. Intakes came in 2 days and my final cost was $120. Gotta love Amazon and that credit card!
BTW, the install was super easy and the directions were great, took me ~1.5 hrs. Did not have the issue that others had with the smaller size ID of the passenger recirc tube (probably due to the fact that it was 80 degrees the day I installed so the tube was pretty flexible). I did have to trim it down to 3" since they give you 7" and it created a sharp bend. They sound very mean (in a good way) during WOT. Didn't mean to derail your thread dragon. Just letting anyone who has the Amazon card know, so they can use their points for these. I usually use the points to pay for my redline oil. Gotta love free oil and cheap intakes! |
I was in the process of ordering mine on Amazon when a banner on the bottom of the screen for streetside auto came up. Can't go wrong with either place :)

great info, I may have to look into picking up this intake @ that price!
|
I got it today. Its already on the car. Sounds great. They sent it fedex ground free. They dont carry alot of things for the 370z but they are cheap and very quick.

Any word on gains with this intake?
|
I think it ranges somewhere between 6-9 whp.

:iagree: based on all the threads i have read on here.

As far as power, I originally intended on getting my baseline dyno done, but things didn't go smoothly. It was the first dyno i've ever had and the machine was sometimes reading the TQ and sometimes it didn't. The only run that came through with both hp/tq readings showed 262 hp(ridiculously low) on dynojet. However, during one pull, i swear i saw on the monitor that it pulled 272hp with no tq readings, but later he said 262 was the best. He probably said it because it was the only one that showed up half way decent. So who knows... So after my intakes and CBE, I brought it somewhere else. There it managed 289 hp on a dynojet as well. My first dyno experience was taken at night and it was much much cooler outside compared to the second dyno. Also keep in mind that these two dyno's were at different shops. I just got my hfc installed, so after headers, pulleys, and tune(probably @specialtyz). I can compare it to some other VQ37 dynos that they have done. I hope this gives you some idea. |
