F1 exhaust sound

Hi to everybody i look for you gurus of 370 nismo that had tried every single exhaust system on the market to show me the path to a f1 exhaust sound or close to that sound, which one i should buy, thanks for your time and consideration.

m4a1mustang 05-05-2011 10:51 PM

Buy an old F1 car.

TreeSemdyZee 05-06-2011 12:27 AM

You'll have to get the rev limiter to 18,000.

waldramos 05-06-2011 06:38 AM

I hope somebody understand what i mean, thanks for nothing u 2, you guys are really funny.

:icon18: Have a sense of humor bud. Nothing is going to get your Z to sound like an F1 car, but look through these sound clips and pick something that sounds best to you! Once you have narrowed it down to a few exhausts try to hear them in person to make your final decision.

Go here: Its not an F1 exhaust, but it sure is dam close!

Exactly how loud do you want to go?

An engine swap is probably like at least 1.5 times as hard as an exhaust install (I'm assuming you just mean tips). Just pointing that out.

YouTube - SG-Motorsport Longtubes On A Street Car

i actually saw this earlier this morning. its a 350z with long tube headers. sounds pretty exotic if ya ask me!

TeamARK 05-06-2011 03:00 PM

The f1 sound is mainly from the engine, not much the exhaust.

Kingbaby 05-06-2011 03:12 PM

Which single exhuast did you try?

I pretty sure that if you go with test pipes/y-pipe/single with a motordyne style megaphone tip. You'll close this silly thread!

haha i was only joking...pointing out that i've never installed anything, let alon removing and fitting an F1 engine into a 370z

wstar 05-06-2011 03:58 PM

Your neighbors (and everyone else within about 1/2 mile radius) would be pissed if your car sounded like an F1 :)

As long as we're on the subject, this is just badass though. The revs and throttle response needed to do this lol:

For some really this reply really made me LOL.:bowrofl:

Mr&Mrs 05-06-2011 04:11 PM

If you want an "exotic" sound go with HFC's or long tube headers and a full GT Haus exhaust. I have some sound clips in my build thread, but nothing comes close to how it sounds in person. It really screams from 5k-8k rpms. This is the best I could find when searching for the same sound, and I love it.

waldramos 05-06-2011 04:48 PM

Thanks for you guys that had tried to help me find the sound that im looking for, if it was in spanish maybe i can explain it better but in english i dont have the term how to explain the sound that i want but definitively its not the borla sound. Thanks for your consideration.

Jjaden 05-06-2011 06:35 PM

In all seriousness switching from stock to F.I. CBE changed my Z from a pussy cat into a lion.

The difference is phenominal but I'm not sure it would be considered F1 worthy?

FL 4Motion 05-06-2011 08:27 PM

Not F1 at all but loud as sh!t (in a good way)= F.I. LTH's w/ non res carbon fiber mufflers CBE.

I absolutly loved that sound. Is there anything like this for a 370z?

Kingbaby 05-07-2011 10:40 PM

If you get 20 folks together it's always available!

oleg 05-08-2011 12:32 AM

you think it would sound anything like the 350z in that vid because so far all the long tune headers I found for the 370z dont sound that similar to the 350z

No, it wont. My friend has one of the last set of SGM headers on his G35. It sounds amazing paired with his Motordyne Shockwave V2 exhaust. I wished my setup sounded remotely close. VQ35's dont have the hiss as bad as our motors do even when completely uncorked. So his setup vs mine, his sounds worlds better. Even if SGM made headers for our setup it wouldnt sound any different from FI's offering. The only variable is the exhaust. If Tony ever finishes his offering for the 370/G37...

fairladyZ34 05-08-2011 09:27 AM

You could build the engine with lightweight and forged internals and use a super light weight flywheel so it just snaps, revs, and screams

BalanBro 05-08-2011 10:17 AM

That saclam or whatever exhaust had the closest to exotic sound i heard. It was specifically tuned for that, but was limited production and costs as much as a supercharger, lol.

Mr&Mrs 05-09-2011 02:47 AM

The GT Haus sounds very exotic at high RPMS............

oleg 05-09-2011 08:10 PM

This is what I could find to be the closest to the f1 sound.

Everything sounds good in a tunnel!

JapanLio 05-09-2011 11:50 PM

For a nice F1 sound, sell your Z and get a Honda S2000 with a proper exhaust... flirting with 10k rpms with a decent exhaust is really fun with a S2K ! :happydance:

waldramos 05-10-2011 06:55 AM

Ok, lets change this a little bit, which one of the exaust system that you heard sound more exotic, like an italian sports car.
