which exhaust System and intake is best for 370Z

I just bought my new Z and I wanna put an intake and an exhaust system which one do you think is the best ?

SPOHN 04-13-2011 09:34 AM

You know thats a loaded question. You are going to get so many answers here. Alot of the systems (almost all of them) are good. For intakes I'd say Stillen Gen3 without a doubt. The exhaust you could go many directions. Depends on your taste for exhaust note. I love my Greddy. Just do a search and see what others have. There's plenty of exhaust clips here to listen to.

Goto the exhaust clips http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...data-base.html and choose for yourself.

Red__Zed 04-13-2011 09:50 AM

The stillens are the go-to for intake, provided you are willing to work with a dremel. People that aren't usually go with Injen's or AEM's.

For exhaust, the FI TDX and Berk are pretty popular. The most popular less-expensive options is probably the Invidia Gemini, which is what I run, and love it.

Berk HFCs are the standard-- I loved them.

Some people piece together Y pipes and such for exhaust as well.

Sibze 04-13-2011 09:53 AM

I took the exhaust and the intakes off of my car. I drive all natural.

Joking

SPOHN 04-13-2011 10:00 AM

^ at least but a mesh screen over the throttle bodies. LOL.

Nah, my Z loves to eat whatever gets in there

Whoa...

Why hasn't anyone asked this question before?

Basically, what you just asked is: What exhaust do you guys have?

because that's what your going to get for answers...

spearfish25 04-13-2011 10:31 AM

The shorter the intake the better. Also, the Z performs best with very narrow exhaust diameters. It's difficult to find information on this site regarding these two topics, so I'd post a few more questions about it. Hopefully someone will have a few ideas.

doublea2527 04-13-2011 12:08 PM

Dre22 04-13-2011 09:59 PM

This was the one of the very few disappointments I have with the Z (other is C pillar visibility). The stock exhaust sound was nothing like the 350Z's or my G35coupe. So, this week, I finally broke down and got my Invidia Gemini, thanks to the recommendations from the guys here. I can't wait to get it installed. Best bang for buck around, imo.

destinyZ 04-14-2011 06:38 AM

honestly if you just want performance, cheap, clean sound, and plan to be N/A for a while......do the AAM muffler deleate, just sayin

The Y pipe needs to be changed as well if you want power.

In that case, Stillen Gen III's and ARK Exhaust.

True, but you need to wrap the tube with aluminum foil or it will not resonate correctly.

from what ive seen, we dont get much of anything from just a CBE. If OP plans on doing a full bolt on setup then yes he should consider changing out the y pipe. I recomended the AAM exhaust deleate for a cost effective way to change the cars note.

which cbe is not a good question because, like stated before, you will recieve so many different answers. just get on youtube and look them up and be sure to look at the other exhaust mods in the video's, they will change how it sounds.

Stillen, HKS, ARK, Indivia......

thats the best advice i can give you man.

I've seen most people gaining 12-25whp from a CBE. That's a pretty substantial gain.

i didnt get exact dyno numbers for the ARK alone, as when i put it on i had other mods. but i'll tell ya. When i toko the ARK off and put on a stock CBE it just felt baddddd. sluggish. : (

Def a top end punch missing.

:icon18::iagree:

Exactly. This is substantial for "just" the CBE mod, and nothing else (which is what I will be doing this Saturday). I'm stock save for the CBE. So I hope to get not only a better more aggressive sounding note/sound, but *some* gain in hp is an added bonus.

You'll get a notable bump. I noticed a difference in feel, along with a huge difference in sound.

go do a baseline then go and dyno it yourself let us know how you do before a tune or any supporting mods.

the best ive seen is 46WHP gain of of all stillen parts.

the car felt weaker when he changed out the CBE because the sound was muffled (so that just was a mental state of mind) and the muffler in the rear chokes it a bit after you have supporting mods because you no longer have that staight, free flowing exhaust. *felt slower* post up the number plus he never stated about a dyno numbers before/after/and after the removal. im tellin you man, it wont happen but ill let you believe what you guys want.

i can 100% garentee you the ARK gives you 1-2WHP on its own

Im done, enjoy the exhaust.....
no i dont have dyno sheets to prove it but its here in the forum somwhere.

the ark is easily more than 1-2whp.

Feeling a nice kick in the pants isnt a mental state if your looking for it. When i removed the ARK, even with some supporting mods, i felt a noticeable drop. Car just doesnt pull through the RPM's like it used to.

but i'll let YOU believe what you want. :p
