2007+ G35(HR)/G37 DUAL POP-CHARGER INTAKE SYSTEM In 2007 Nissan drastically improved the VQ35 intake system by adding an extra throttle, so the question was, is there any room for improvement? After a full year of testing JWT got the answer, "YES", but only with the most efficient Pop-Charger Venturi inlets and hood-sealed heat shields. In addition to a 6.5 to10 WHP improvement, the tone of the engine due to the dual 6” venturis is definitely the most beautiful sound ever heard from a VQ engine! 50 STATE LEGAL EO D-244-7

Do you think that the 370z is going to have a better intake system than this>?

I would think it was going to be nearly identical...

I think I can see a better flowing stock intake but most likely identical.

Nice...
Ughhhh!
I'm dying to like just open the hood of the 370z and like exploring the engine!!!!
T______T;;

Must stay focused...

i have pops on my G it sounds great and you can def feel the added kick, but u can find it for cheaper than 395

Slidefox 11-21-2008 09:30 AM

Popchargers will always be the best bang for the buck!

+1 but the new stillen gen 3 intake sounds amazing too

Never heard it

On the HR, Injen adds about 3-4 WHP dyno confirmed. JWT does not add any power, and most likely, lost a few.
I wouldn't believe anything these manufacturers claim about HP/TQ gains. Almost 99% of them are complete BS

RCZ 11-22-2008 01:59 PM

If an intake claims more than 5WHP on an N/A car, its most likely bs..

I've heard that 75% of all facts are false...

Also remember that an intake may add a few more PEAK horsepower, but it also changes your power and torque curve. I have been working with Jim Wolf Technology on my time attack 350Z for years now and I can assure you that anything that guy puts his name on is quality and as functional as possible. The sad truth is that intakes on most cars make minimal, or no difference in power, but they do look good, make the car sound better, and can increase throttle response. Not to mention they have re-useable filters. :)

Pop chargers are not going to yield those gains on the VQ.

The worst part of the pop charger is that thing they call a "heat shield". It's anything but a shield. During stop and go traffic, all the heat lying around the engine bay will have a negative impact on performance. (Once moving, heat shields aren't going to be much of a factor since there's colder air moving into the engine bay).

EDIT: Yes the short tube G37 Coupe intake should* bolt up.. thought the original comparison was to the 350Z intake, which my comments below apply..

Most likely the fitment will be possible with a short tube style intake, but the function will most likely net dramatically different results.

These motors are not the same, and do not react the same to the same modifications.
