Loud and sounding really good are not mutually exclusive. i.e., it's not an either/or proposition. ;)

Glad you're enjoying the mods, man.

Yeah, I'll get a video for you folks sooner or later.

I have the Stillen exhaust on my Z too and I love the sound! Ill try and borrow my roommate's camera when he gets back from vacation and try to make a video/soundclip for you guys!

Yeah the test pipes do introduce rasp, I didn't order them resonated unfortunately so I had to custom resonate them locally which helped out a lot.

Still debating whether or not I should go with headers, think I'm going to wait for long tubes if they come out anytime soon. Or what do you guys think?

Was looking at the GTM resonated test pipes...

G37Sam 05-06-2009 08:32 PM

^ don't think twice.. just do it.. sounds just sexy and no CEL issues

RCZ 05-06-2009 08:36 PM

No offense, I'd rather think about it :)

G37Sam 05-06-2009 08:48 PM

No, he just does calculated purchases with a reason, rather than shooting from the hip merely for sound...

Resonated test pipes IMO combine the best of both worlds, doesn't rasp like the non-resonated and gives better gains than the somewhat restricting HFC's

Isn't that good enough a reason? man and I thought Z'ers had harder biting mod bugs lol

I don't disagree with you at all. The theory is solid. However, there are many other variables that have to be looked at.. build quality, sound, manufacturer support of their products, actual proven gains, fitment, etc.

I am not someone who buys parts on impulse...you bought your test pipes and then had to get them resonated because you couldnt stand the rasp, I don't do that. Funny you would suggest I make the same mistake you did, I guess you didn't learn anything from it. So no, its not because I want to ruin my stillen collection.

G37Sam 05-06-2009 09:46 PM

Well one can't know how bad the rasp actually is until you hear it for yourself.. nothing wrong with being the guinea pig I guess lol

LiquidZ 05-06-2009 09:48 PM

I am very picky about what I buy for my car. That's why I annoy the **** out of vendors with pesky PM's asking about their products.

Measure twice, cut once fits my attitude.
