Invidia Gemini & GTM TP - Install

Well I finally pulled the trigger and have the Invidia Gemini and GTM Resonated Test Pipes on their way, thanks to a couple of the vendors. I plan to do the install this weekend. Before I jump into it I have one question for those of you with TPs/HFC:

Should I do the steel wool trick in addition to the J-bend anti fowlers? I know some other TP brands don't have the J-style O2 bungs and it helps to add the steel wool, but with the J-bends do I still need it? I would like to avoid a CEL issue...

No, don't even bother with steel wool as the J bend o2 bung extensions are tried and true at this point. You will love it!

Thanks that's what I was thinking! I am hoping I love it as much as I think I will! I'll try to take some install pics to share.

Install Complete

Well I tackled the install today, GTM Test Pipes and Invidia Gemini Exhaust are on the Nismo and here are my thoughts:

Install Process:
Obviously the teardown was nothing. I was using ramps unfortunately, which made the whole process take 2x as long. Everything came off pretty smoothly until I got to the cats. For me, the Demon Bolt was the Demon Bolts. It took me forever to get the bolts loose, which I was not expecting, being my car only has 4,000 miles on it. A trip to get them torched off and 4 hours later, the exhaust was fully installed.

Initial Thoughts:
The quality of the Test Pipes is outstanding. GTM did a great job, as the welds look great and fitment was spot-on. The exhaust impressed me as well (for the price). I thought the welds looked very good and the fitment was good as well. I did have to add a couple washers on the passenger side muffler hanger to get the tips to the same height. One of my tips has a small dent, which I plan to let the vendor know about and hopefully get replaced. Overall, the I would rate the TP a 10/10 for quality. The exhaust, 7/10.

Sound:
The sound is great. Very mellow under normal driving conditions, but lets you know it is there under harder acceleration. One thing that cought me off guard is the hiss. It is there and noticable. I had read several reviews stating that the Gemini got rid of this, so I was a little surprised to hear it. It is not overwhelming, however, and does not sound bad at all. Overall, I am very happy/impressed with the sound and give it a 10/10.

Barring the insane PITA install, everything went smoothly and left me very satisfied. I will try to get some pics and videos together. I did not get around to taking any during the install since it was fairly time intensive as it was.
