ERZperformance 05-20-2011 12:28 AM

Finally this exhaust is in stock now and ready to ship.

buddahson 05-24-2011 10:28 AM

Received Exhaust and HFC's today. Will be installing tonight. If all goes well I should have pics, sound clips and a review up by Thursday.

ZPhycho 05-24-2011 11:42 AM

^^ nice how does the exhaust look? Mine will be here on thursday

buddahson 05-24-2011 01:53 PM

I haven't fully unpackaged it so I only took a peak. This is my first car exhaust so I can really only compare it to my leo vince full system on my R6. I'm expecting the Leo Vince to be higher quality since it cost twice as much and is less than half the material but I'll have a better idea of the quality tonight once fully unboxed.

ZPhycho 05-24-2011 02:24 PM

Cool, if you can take a few pics of it as you unpack and I know your going to have the HFC but if you can kinda jugde how it sounds compared to the video that would be great

buddahson 05-24-2011 11:29 PM

Installed the cat back tonight, it sounds great at idle. Deeper than I expected which is a plus. I ran into an issue as I began the first test drive. As the car starts to roll forward something starts banging. It sounds kind of like a jack in the box and is pretty tinny. Its dark and late so I wasn't able to figure out the problem or how to fix it. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to where the problem may lie?

On another note, the cats were not coming off easily so I gave up for now. Will work on those another day.

Did you removed emissions canister shield located on the passenger side rear bumper because if you don't remove it the muffler will hit it.

Looking at it now thats almost I definitely missed that. I will remove it tomorrow. Thanks for the quick reply.

ZPhycho 05-25-2011 05:11 PM

Any updates yet?

buddahson 05-25-2011 07:44 PM

Found another issue. Its rubbing on a driveline knuckle where it goes into the diff. not sure how to fix other than cut one of the supporting bars on the piece between the muffler and flex pipes.

ZPhycho 05-25-2011 08:53 PM

That's not good did removing the emission sheild fix the first issue you were having?

We found out that the factory weld one of the support bracket out of four on the mid pipe at the wrong location. We are going to totally remove one of the support brackets located on the mid pipe so that bracket will not touch the driveline knuckle anymore.

New lower price is 499 shipped your only chance to get this exhaust at this price because one of the bracket will be removed, after this shipment is sold out, price will go back up to 650.

Quick update. I got everything back together moments befor my softball game so I took the car to the Fields. It sounds fantastic. It is not loud but as my buddy says it sounds like a beast under load. I would also describe it as sounding mean. Several of my friends that were helping out today said they love the sound. I did not have any drone at any speed. I have not yet installed the cats so this is with cat back only. I will take another crack at the hfcs on Saturday.

As Thomas (NissanGeneration) said I had two issues. First is the black exhaust canister sheild on the passenger rear bumper needed to be removed due to possible rubbing issues. The second and more critical issue was that one of the support brackets on the mid pipe was welded too high and was coming in contact with the driveline knuckle where it meets the rear diff. The simple solution was to cut the bracket off and now its good to go.

Thomas (NissanGeneration) was extremely responsive and helpful with all my questions. This is some of the best customer service I have ever received. I PM'd him after business hours twice and both times he got back to me via PM, email and phone within 15 minutes. Thank you Thomas.

The only other finishing touch I need to do is find a way to push the passenger side muffler tip in. I prefer it flush with the body but its sticking out maybe 1cm. The tip just doesn't quite have enough adjustment but this is a very minor detail.

My friend shot a quick in car video with his phone. It really does not do the exhaust justice. Its actually pretty deep sounding in person.

Hey buddah does yours have an H pipe up front? From the pics I never saw an H pipe not that I care I prefer that it has it just wondering if it will an exhaust leak since it just slips together?

buddahson 05-26-2011 10:09 PM

Yes its an H pipe. I didn't look that closely, does the part that connects the two pipes open into them or is it just there for support? Either way, no leaks so far. I'm going to check again this weekend for leaks and the re-torque the bolts if necessary. I should have better pics and video up in a few days as well. I may wit till my gopro gets her early next week though.

Just get a 2.5 inch exhaust clamp the factory forgot to include it again.

ZPhycho 05-27-2011 05:35 AM

Cool I'll do that

It opens in to them, not just a support bar. I'm installing mine today I'll put up a few vids of it after I'm done

ZPhycho 05-27-2011 10:31 AM

Installing mine right now

ZPhycho 05-27-2011 05:36 PM

Exhaust is on sounds great looks awesome, need to make some adjustments for the tips to sit more flush with the bumper, need to get an exhaust clamp for the H pipe as well since there's a small leak coming from where it slips together

ERZperformance 05-27-2011 05:51 PM

Post some picture and sound clips.

Thanks, just add to what I said earlier, the fittment is good, quality of the exhaust its self is really good nice welds all around and the butt dyno is showing some gains as the exhaust breaks in it keeps getting deeper in sound which is already deep and a little louder too which is good since this isn't a very loud system I'd put it in the middle in terms volume all in all well worth the price regardless if its the GB or normal price!

Were you able to get the exhaust tips to adjust properly so they both sit evenly and flush?

Didn't try to last night with the weather being bad here going to work on it today should be a quick adjustment to get both flush

buddahson 05-28-2011 03:26 PM

Ok here are some more Pictures. In the last set I have the tips fully aligned the way I want them. I love this exhaust. Now if only I could install the hfc's. I think I'm going to have to take it to a shop for that though.

Exhaust Parts. I forgot to photograph the flex / H pipes before installing.

Exhaust is completely sold out for another 2 weeks, we are taking pre orders again, this is the last chance to get this for 499 shipped.

buddahson 06-01-2011 09:37 PM

Here's a video taken with my new GoPro. It gives some idea of what the exhaust sounds like on the car. First part is attached to the rear bumper and the second part is attached to the front fang. I will try to get flybys and a better in car video in the next few days.

Received my exhaust today. The box is beat to hell... Probably because UPS tossed it around. There is a big enough hole on the box where I can peek in and see the packaging. So far the packaging seems pretty bad considering I can see parts of the exhaust without any bubble wrap. From some of the holes that I can poke through I can feel the exhaust piping and it seems like it only has one layer of bubble wrap.

I will open the box itself and see if the exhaust is in bad condition or not when I get the chance to install it.

I will edit this post with some pics soon.

EDIT PHOTOS:

ZPhycho 06-07-2011 01:06 PM

Damn dude UPS beat the **** out of that box when I got mine the box was in near perfect shape, hope the exhaust is ok

ERZperformance 06-07-2011 03:15 PM

I just don't understand how UPS can do this.

Cell 06-07-2011 03:40 PM

I don't know what to say. I haven't opened up the box yet. I am hoping there aren't any huge dents on the piping.

VQinside 06-07-2011 04:59 PM

so what are the power gains with this system?
any Dyno charts? It seems like this question has been ignored many times.
