NP dude, glad it was up to expectations lol 80 bucks, no brainer huh, it will mate up just fine, stick some pics up and your thoughts etc.
Hoepfully it gos as well as mine did. Nice CBE choice, I am just pricing a 3 in flange, 18 resonator a 3in in to 2X 2.5 out muffler and some straght cut 4 in tips for a custom CBE, should save myself a good few hundread on an OTS number. ;-) and have a unique sound. |
just saw this today. For $80 bucks i should get this and sell my FI catback... damn thats cheap.
Edit: ended up buying one, this should be interesting. |
^good for you dude......
|
lol.. did the seller thanked you for this thread? you probably bought him around 6-7 buyers? maybe?? LOL
|
7 I think, and no thanks lol ;-(
its OK, as long as some guys in here got a snag.. |
i was just kidding man, I would do the same if i were you
we good ppl are bad @ss |
OK anyone looking I can do one PM, shortly selling this one with some hardly used K&N drop in filters for a 'decent' price shipped.
PM me if interested dudes. |
Ooo some1 is upgrading his exhaust
pm your plan :D |
Just got mine....FedEx was super slow. It looks 100% identical to the Top Speed pipe which also looks like the Megan pipe. They may share a supplier and these are not branded. When it warms up I will try it out with the Top Speed exhaust. Looks to be a very good buy for the money. We will see how it holds up.

Nice dude, I was going to run this with the top speed, so interested to see what you think, I agree its a bargain. I had zero issues with mine.
|
will this make any diff. if i am still running a stock exhaust? for 80 bucks i feel like i cant say no....
|
Did for me, def noticed a change for the better, stock one is a pea shooter
|
I'm very anxious to see a few of you with this. Hurry the HELL up and get videos going.:driving:

I will do it as soon as I get a good day to take the car to work for the install. I don’t drive the Z in winter. I am still on the fence between Berk HFCs or test pipes. I hear they make tons of rasp. May keep the cats stock. |
just placed my order.... I think I am going to have a love hate relationship with this forum..... I love looking at everything everyone finds and does. I hate that it makes me do things i didnt expect to mine.... :shakes head: Had a 09 white base before and managed to never do anything to it.... I have had my GMetalic 2011 sport for less then a month and less then 300 miles and the UPS guy is getting to know me on a first name basis....:happydance:
has anybody done a DIY for this... looked quickly but did not see it.. thanks |
i dont have videos YET, but i have this anonymous ebay 80 dollar y-pipe and the top speed exhaust and I am and have been running both together. Simply put, both paired together absolutely RIP. I spent about 600 for both and my car screams now. The y pipe added a lot of grunt in 1st and 2nd and around parking lots and what not and then the exhaust obv rips once VVT kicks in. BUt overall I have the system, have been running it for some time, and it rips loud, aggressive, exotic etc, dont hesistate because of the price. Im living proof that both pieces work well together and sound great. Headed back for dyno numbers soon now that I installed the Y-pipe to see if I picled up a couple horses
|
I installed mine last night... fit damn good... didn't have any problems with it.
I did notice a little more drone after the install but it isn't bad. It sounds much deeper as well. I'll post a video this afternoon when I get out of my office... *thumbs up from me* |

The hardest part is getting under the car without a lift and holding tools above your head. I had to soak the nuts in liquid wrench so they wouldn't break when I removed them. If your car is newer, you shouldn't have a problem. |
i got a lot more drone too. but i like drone. makes me feel like I am driving a real car
|
Sure... I think it sounds good. Really puts out the sound a Z should make.
Now, let's not confuse drone with rasp. Mine has like .02 rasp... 99.8% awesomeness. :-D |

Just to clarify... you should never be able to FEEL VTEC in a Honda. If you do... someone isn't tuning it properly.
:-P |
GT35 / 42R masks all ;-)

but who the hell cares...... :) |
Hondas are my first love, I've been building them for the last 10 or so years. From the Hondata training classes I've been to, VTEC crossover should be tuned to be smooth and linear.
In a stock car, you'll hear it... but it shouldn't be a sudden change in power. You know, it was explained to me that it shouldn't be a burst of power. With the newer engines in the RSX, TSX the change is audible but the "pop" or "surge" is far less predominant when you stomp on it. :-D |
got mine today, have FI catback right now, will install this y-pipe with stock exhaust and compare how it sounds. probably will end up going with top-speed back section.
|
Do me a favor, do a weight comparo of the top speed to the stock mid/muffler would ya
|
I'm intrested in getting it.
Do you need to tune it after you put it on ?, Second can u just take out that part and put this one in or do you need to take out your entire exhaust behind it to install it ? Finally, Have anyone done this with the spacer mod on the muffler ?, where you replace your gasket with 4 spacers, if so what results, sound wise ? SRY I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS |
Negative on tune, 20 min install, rear section and cats stay where they are during install, flex joints and a little push and shuve, easy....
Done spacer mod, personally I dont like an induced leak, prefer to do a shorty chop job or change the CBE. NP on ?'s lots of guys here to help. |
