do not blow on the MAF sensors. if you do anything to them make sure u use the MAF cleaner

disconnect the battery before doing anything to the sensors or plugs. just a precaution. those things are really finicky sometimes. all else failes, put back to stock and take to the dealer.

I had a similar problem when I went to clean my air filters. Apparently a small piece of a leaf fell down in the intake side of the airbox when I pulled the filter out.

I started the car and drove it to the gas station... missing like **** and then CEL came on and started idle surging from 1k to like 3k.

I drove back to my shop and pulled the MAFs out, only to find a piece of leaf was stuck inside. I shook it out, cleaned the MAF and reinstalled it... reset the ECU and it was good to go.

Something tells me either the MAFs weren't put back in properly or something is affecting their air flow. I'd pull the intakes back off and check everything again.

Major vac leak somewhere after the MAF sensor.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Still didn't find the issue yet. But I've noticed it drives fine on interstate. But anyways it's going back to the dealer today.

This sounds like a vacuum leak. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but at highway driving speed your vacuum pressure is not an issue... it's an issue at idle because air is not freely flowing to the intake.

kevin8086 01-10-2011 07:27 PM

a vacuum leak means the air entering the motor is not metered and cannot be adjuster for with fuel

Car is fixed and running well. As it turns out it was a small bug that mysteriously found it's way onto on of the MAF sensors. Thanks for the advice though

guess most of us were right, it was the MAF sensor (sort of) glad its all good now.

That's quite the fluke.
