Anybody tried these type of intake?? Is it worth the money or no? :tiphat:

This system comes with K&N filters which are oiled. I used K&N filters when
I had my Jetta and they made my MAF sensor fail
twice. This is due to the oil required on the filters which gets stuck on the sensor. Since then I never used oiled filters, only dry ones.

I do like that they come with the covers for the engine bay.
check the R2C system, is pretty much the exact same thing for th same price
and they have dry filters plus 3 different finishes for the pipe (I hate chrome).
Last time I checked I believe someone got 15whp on the Dyno from the intake.
its somewhere in the forum.

This is the system I plan on buying when my sweet tax return comes in

well, there are a couple reason why I am interesting in these system due to the price, easy to access & easy installation.

Unless you want to dress up the engine bay, save yourself some cash and leave the intake alone. The Gen 3 will give you some gains, but cleaning the filters will require removing the bumper every time. I've had the K & N drop-in's for over 6 months with no oiling issues whatsoever. Most of those issues are from people re-oiling and applying too much anyways. There is a tread here with dyno results for the K & N drop in's with somewhere between 5-10hp rwhp gains.... about the same for the Gen 2's (nowhere near 15hp gain). If you want real gains, save your cash for an exhaust.

If you don't mind used intakes, every now and them there are members on the forum getting rid of theirs. You could always get them powdercoated if used, and will look new. The bumper is actually quite easy to remove, so that doens't take much time. A group of us will be at Z1 this weekend if you're available. Last time I was at Z1, they had a used set that they removed of a car they TTd.
