Shipped and should arrive by tommorow! I'll probably install tommorow too but I was hoping to get some before and after dynos...oh well, the mod bug bites hard I don't think I'll be able to wait to install once I have them in hand lol.

i want to buy this so bad but im broke after paying for the z in cash. I have never seen such gains for just a intake before

m4a1mustang 03-19-2009 06:31 PM

Very nice! I'm interested to see the dyno results.

Any chance you guys will release a version for those of us who might not want that much bling? I'd probably opt for something like a flat black plastic over something shiny like that.

Or even a silver powdercoat might be nice but still less flashy. Like this:

The tubing is polished aluminum.. if you wanted to sand it down, you could take it to any local powdercoater and coat it whatever color you want. Or even a high-temp epoxy paint.. options are unlimited.

We have not seen the requests to change up color options, as you can imagine that can begin to affect inventory significantly, which in turn would increase the cost to you, which we've done what we can to reduce..

Good points, Josh. I for one appreciate keeping costs reasonable. :)

arcticreaver 03-19-2009 06:49 PM

important question that i have - i'm in CA, is this mod legal in CA?

Doesn't help when we have to build BOTH sides! ;)

This intake has been submitted to CARB for emissions approval. It is currently CARB-Pending, but with our track record with intakes (and superchargers) we are confident of approval. What we don't know is how long the approval process will take.. that lies in the hands of CARB, who can sometimes take a while.

Just putting it out there.

Trust me, if anyone knows about the bottom line it's me... that's what my job is all about.

If you guys ever did build a black plastic one, though, I'd buy it. :driving:

Josh@STILLEN 03-19-2009 08:04 PM

Hey.. I'm in marketing.. if it were up to me we'd have all kinds of options.. LOL

:)

Intake looks great and so do the gains, taking a dremel tool to my new car however.......

rench 03-20-2009 07:13 AM

yeah... dremel to new car has me leary heheh. Also, does the bumper have to come off to clean/change the filters later?

HustlerX5 03-20-2009 11:12 AM

INSTALLLED!

As of yesterday! as far as how difficult it was to install i'd say about a 7 out of 10, and that's only because i had to hack into the core support (very minor might i add) in order to get the pipes to fit. but other than that install was very straight forward and took exactly an hour, and that's only because i screwed up on a couple of things and had to go back and correct them....hehe. Anywho performance wise i feel a noticeable pull when the temp of the car is between about 150ish to a bit above 180, but as soon as it goes above 200 it's not as noticeable at all. Now keep in mind this is my butt dyno so i could be completely wrong but oh well i guess we'll have to wait until independent dynos become available. (such as mr. denny who we're all waiting for lol.)
