Another Motordyne M370 Dyno Test

First off. Thanks to the guys at Z1 for doing this install!

About my car:
09 Pearl White. Touring. Sports. Nav. Manual
8800 Miles.

Mods:
Stillen Gen III intakes powdercoated by Mike
Strut Tower Brace powdercoated by Mike
Megan Racing CBE
Z1 Oil Cooler
Z1 SS brake Lines
Z1 SS Clutch Line
No Tune.
Stock Cats.

Results:

I gained peak HP and gained peak TQ (about 5hp and 10Tq average between runs peak only). The powerband definitely did show a good improvement. In some places there was about a 19TQ gain with about a 15hp gain. The Delta Graph that Tony will post should show this. (I am e-mailing him the files as I type this)

I Unfortunately bungled up and didnt e-mail myself the combined JPEGS of the dyno. So I only have the 3 base and 3 after. But i swear when you see them combined you can easily see a big diff.

Also it sounds a bit different. hard to explain really but its more of a rumble on the intake. More aggressive. Driving home and trying some third gear dashs it felt alot more alive (not superchaged alive) but theres a difference.

P.S Mike you should have come out! bad weather aside it was a fun time!

Now what everyone cares about...

The Car on the Dyno. Base runs have been already run.

The Car still on the Dyno. Stock manifold is removed.

Wish I could have made it! But, I did have a good week of powdercoating. Did 13 sets of brakes, a valve cover and your pulleys in 3 days!

daisuke149 10-27-2010 09:53 PM

dayum man. you need a break (SEMA?) or is that work too lol

Great numbers, btw!

Staples 10-27-2010 10:58 PM

Congrats on the gains, these things really shine when comparing torque numbers.

Dan Z Man 10-27-2010 11:05 PM

hmm not bad not bad

Q8y_drifter 10-27-2010 11:38 PM

Torque gains look really good!

Gah, another Z with great results from this manifold. I am so conflicted; some people have great gains everywhere with the manifold, others don't and it makes it hard to justify buying it with such varying results.

Thanks for taking the time to post your results, much appreciated!

efuseakay 10-28-2010 12:52 AM

You should go back in another week or two to get some numbers after the ECU has fully adjusted. :)

His numbers would contradict. Different day, different temperature, different result. The ECU should automatically relearn by the 3rd pull on the dyno, right before heatsoak sets in.

Here is an overlay of the dyno results. I'll work on the analysis and get it posted asap.

Thanks Tony! Was going to copy that over but iphone wont do that (omw to work atm)

Footloose301 10-28-2010 08:09 AM

Good job on the gains. Too bad it doesn't have "bling" to it, like the Kinetix intake manifold.

HKYStormFront 10-28-2010 08:33 AM

nice numbers... this is without tune right? wonder what would happen after uprev... :stirthepot:

daisuke149 10-28-2010 08:38 AM

yeah no tune on my car.

not gonna get a tune till after i do something about my headers/cats.

I know exactly how you feel...Glad to know that I'm not the only one struggling with this issue.

completely understandable, i'm a firm believer in getting your vehicle set up with the mods you want first, then tuning it. why waste the money tuning after every (or every other) mod?

what about clayton? :icon17:

Motordyne 10-29-2010 10:13 AM

Here are your delta results. Your results were consistent but there was some of the usual dynojet glitchyness so I included a trend line.

Just to Add onto this. Spent some time driving around town.

Having this manifold makes driving the car.. seem easier..

Explanation:
It seems to be more alive, more responsive. It feels like its revving easier than before under load. Now of course when I gun it I feel a better kick, but im talking about more just everyday driving.

Also, it doesnt just sound different in the engine bay, but it has changed the tone of my exhaust. The exhaust is now a bit deeper, and less drone. Driving at 3k rpm is no longer annoying.

Of course I will see if anything more changes within a week or something. But as for right now, Im realllly like this.

daisuke149 11-03-2010 08:10 PM

Some of the shots from the weekend cruise! Manifold included of course.

:iagree: My Z feels more alive and responsive as well. I love going WOT and hearing that intake growl around 4000rpm! With VDC off I can now break the tires loose in 3rd around 5500rpm on cold days. Thats about 62mph and I am running Hankook V12 305s! :driving:

Looking good, glad it turned out well. I'm very happy with my Motordyne Manifold.
