FI CBE Install Help

I bought a used 18" CF FI CBE off the forums and am going to try to install it myself. I backed up on rhino ramps today and I think I will have enough clearance to get the job done that way.

I don't have install instructions so have a few questions. What is this I see posted about the evap canister? What and where is that and do I need to remove it? What about putting heat shield on a fuel line or something? I will need to buy some at the auto parts store I guess.

Any help would be great! Thanks!

You have to remove this cover and then just bend the heat shield a little so it does not rub on your muffler. (you cannot install the muffler with the cover on, it's in the way) As far as heat shielding the lines, you have to wrap the lines that are closest to the muffler. You will see what you need to do. I noticed they were not close enough to the muffler to be an issue so I did not do mine yet but will do it soon. I couldn't get access to it since I installed my muffler first!

That's a good tip. Make sure you cut/bend the heat sheild and wrap the lines before you install your pipes. Let me know if you have any questions. I just installed mine a couple of weeks ago.

I bought some extra heat wrap at the auto parts store so I could completely cover the line leading to the evap canister (it is obvious which line needs wrapping once you are under there). The evap cover can't be missed and is held on with 3 bolts (or screws...I can't remember!). The bend of the heat shield should even be called a bend. It is more of a "tweak" or "push".

I think you need to get the front wheels off the ground a bit. I had mine up 3" and still had trouble getting a breaker bar on the cat bolts. Give it a shot though. The bolts that gave me the hardest time were the ones connecting the stock Y pipe to the axle back.

Good luck and keep us posted. Soon you will be part of the cult!
