Injen SRI (Short Ram Intake)

A friend of my friend has a set of Injen SRI off of his G37, for $200. They have about 2K miles on them. And I was wondering anyone have these on thier 370z and if they are worth it? Because for $200... that is dirt cheap!!!

Just say no... Go with cold air rather than short ram (too much heat soak, and your picking up hot engine air)..

One of my other good friends said

"Your best bet would be the short ram intake, cold air intake tube makes a little more power but are more prone to inhaling water, and debris that can lock up the motor or damage nissans super expensive mass air flow sensors.Trust me, i seen it. As low as our cars are, its only a matter of time until you run into a huge puddle of water, with a short ram intake youll have a huge advantage over the cold air."

Now I'm kinda confuse but idk... I just want the best for my baby :D

********. CAIs like the ones from stillen are pretty much impossible to soak with water since they are up so high and above the crash barrier

He is probably thinking about those types that are extremely low and will soak up water at every chance they get.

inhaling water with a cai is 99.9% of the time driver error/stupidity.

Not 100% true, if you have your Z as a DD and you get one of those areas with fllash flooding there is nothing that you can do.

$200 for little to no gain...well if you want to burn $200 go ahead just to have something to look at when you pop your hood. Get a set of K&N drop ins you'll have similar if not better results.

Go with long tubes and drive carefully.

I wouldn't waste the money!!

For 200 bucks go for it man, I had short ram on my car before I bought a real CIA, you notice a small difference, and the engine sound is much better. You can probably resale on Craigslist or something later on if you decide to upgrade and loose little to no money.

alvinmathew88 09-17-2010 12:37 AM

If you want the best, get CAI... Better performance and unless you live in an area that floods constantly, get it!

You can go name brand with ingens SRI or you can go knock off for $50

I have seen the ingen sri and there is nothing special about it, its just a MAF adapter to a K&N pod filter, basically you would just be replacing the air boxes with pod filters.

IMO it isn't worth $200. Heck you can fabricate your own pipes for much less(search modshack intake)

Or better yet you can always cut your stock box off before the MAF and connect a POD filter to it

Edit: oooppss necro bump
