"X" or "Y" type exhaust which one better?

Which is more efficient in terms of performance and gains the GTM “X” type or the Stillen “Y” type exhaust?
Thanks,
Alex

Hi,
I just spoke to Max at Stillen he suggested that there were some benefits to each type of exhaust configuration , that at Stillen they tested both and felt that the “Y” seemed to give more gains and preformed best on the 370Z, engine and overall configuration than the “X” .
This may also be possibly why the OEM configuration is a “Y” type all be it much more constrictive then the Stillen design.
Thanks,
Alex

HaHa, I'm sure Max @ Stillen didn't give a bias answer at all :icon18:

Can't say I know the answer honestly, but my money would of predicted Max's answer before it left his lips LOL

I'm interested in the forum members answers though, this could be my next mod

:iagree:

Yup, my next mod will be CBE as well!

I always thought H/X yielded more power gains than a Y because those configurations enable the exhaust gases to take the path with the least resistance.

:iagree:

It is supposed to help with exhaust gas scavenging, thus increasing flow.
