Anyone else with new vids running stock cats? EDIT: saw the thread you just posted, I see that the hfc were installed at the same time. Thanks for the baseline runs and the runs after the install |

YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! Thanks for sharing...Awesome review, posts and vids...14whp gain is very respectable...especially considering that it was done immediately after the install....Like others have posted it will increase over time once the ECU adapts and a few miles are put on....Can't wait to see the next dyno run... +1 for you my fren!!!!! |

Trying to get some vids up..had my tints done friday and it's been raining here for the last 4 days so I havent been driving the car as much as I'd like to. I have off from work today and tomorrow so I'll try to get some better ones.
Took this one on the the way home after I hopped on the highway to my exit about 2 miles away. Just a quick one because it was 1:30 on I287 and I couldnt get much space....windows were down..no WOT..taken with droid X.. YouTube - Berk exhaust and HFC 370z highway drive |
Cool Vid 370DNY....Thanks for sharing...Looking forward to more vids! Sounds awesome...really like the Berk CBE/HFC Combo....Sounds deep, smooth and mean...I can imagine what it would be like at WOT!
|
I'm not too happy with this one..length of the street kind of ruined the opportunity to stay on the gas past the cameraman who was in a bad spot. The iphone 4 mic+youtube sound just doesn't do the exhaust any justice either. I'll put it up anyway though.

How is the volume level when cruising? Is it still relatively tame even with HFCs?
|
It's really tame when cruising. Cruising at 2-2500 is very quiet. Even on the highway at 2500-3000 it never gets annoying or bothersome.

Was wondering whether any of you that have done the install did a reset on your ECU'S to erase the "Learned Driving" that the ECU had programmed prior to the exhaust being installed...I recall in one of the Berk related threads that Berks rexommended doing a reset on the ECU prior to doing the install of the exhaust...I did a search but haven't been able to locate that particular post...was wondering whether this recommendation is mentioned anywhere in the CBE install instrucyions...Does anyone know what's the purpose for this?
|

|
I know that TERBO didn't either....I read up on some posts on the forum and I'm a bit confused...Some recommend it and others say that the ECU will readjust itself over after a couple hundred miles...Some say that when resetting the ECU, you will actually speed up the process of the ECU adapting to the new exhaust...One person posted that when they did do the reset, that his Z drank like a fish for a couple of days before it settled in with the new exhaust...
Wondering if Berks or anyone that has acutal knowledge could chime in on this topic |

Nice review BOLIO! It looks like you win the :driving:! I don't even think mine has been shipped yet.
I am officially the first to have the exhaust shipped, and the last to get it and install it! CRAP!:mad:/ :drama: |
I feel you man!!! Don't worry homie...its dam worth the wait...It really felt like Christmas for me yesterday...Thought the day would never come when I would have the exhaust in my hands...I will be sure to post up vids and more reviews once the install is done.
|

Berk Technology is looking for a customer in Southern California with a 370Z interested in a Berk Technology cat-back exhaust system. Please PM me for details if you are interested. A discount price will be available for the exhaust if we can borrow the car for a day to test-fit. We'll also install it as part of the deal.
Thanks! |

Well according to the guys at Berk, the ECU reset is not necessary...Went ahead and shot a PM to Rob regarding this issue.... In regards to your HFC's good luck...hope you don't run into the "Devil Bolts." These are the bolts located on the top of the Triangle Shaped Flanged which are hooked up to the header...I finally did my install a few days ago and I'm loving the exhaust...Its been raining a lot here on Guam, so I haven't had a chance to do a full review and get up some vids:shakes head:...Hopefully the weather will clear up over the weekend...I have much things to say about the exhaust and install....For now..lets just say that Berk hit the nail right on the head with this exhaust system:tup: |

alright so i finally installed my berk hfc to add to my berk cbe and holy sh1t was that annoying and time consuming haha...it also sounds so nice now that i have both of them tho....if you are looking to install these then make sure u have plenty of break catalyst and plenty of patience ahah

Here are a few videos I took with my iPhone recently. I am LOVING this combo!!
In this first one I didn't have a mount so I am just holding the phone. Not the best but it sounds good. Here I found a way to mount the phone. Now back the other way. Some easy acceleration. |
Sounds great! I just got my HFC's in the mail today! :happydance:
Still waiting for my exhaust to show up though :shakes head: |

BOLIO'S 370Z with Berks HFC/CBE Combo
Alright guys...I figured I jump in on the band wagon and add some more great news to our thread..
I received my Berk's last week and although I was supposed to get in installed this week, my brother (Q) and a good friend of ours (Chuck) decided to get together the day after I received it to do the install....So my bro and I headed over to our friend Chuck's shop with the exhaust and a 12-pack of Corona  (Mas Fina!!!!) Brief description of the install.... Long story short...The Stock exhaust was a pain in the @$$ to take out...Not so much the Cat back, but we ran into the "Devil Bolts" when we came across the stock cats. These bolts are located on the top part of the Triangle Flange that connects the Cats to the headers...Even after greasing these suckers down and using "Snap-On" air tools running 175psi, these suckers wouldn't budge...So we had a lot of down time while we activated one of our friends who is a tech from Nissan (Verg) to bring over a special tool to help us get it out... Once the tool arrived we got that sucker out, and the rest was a breeze...The Berks went in real smooth and without any problems...No issues with the "Hangers" fitment, or alignment, and the tips lined right up without any mods..Just straight up bolt on and go!!! All in all, with a stock exhaust that gives you no problems you can complete this whole install within 1Hr to 1:15Hrs.... Sound One word...."Breathtaking"....it matches this car so much...I've gotten a lot of thumbs up and heads turning since this exhaust was installed...Perfect combo with the HFC's...The one thing I love is that it growls from 3500-4500 RPM range, but unlike other exhausts that get extremely crazy as you go up the RPM range, the Berks seems to harmonize with the HR motor as the Revs go higher...SUPER SWEET!!!! Berks you did a great job with this product!!! I'm proud to be the 1st and (so far) the only Berk's owner on Guam!!!! Although I agree with the rest of of the folks that Vids don't do this exhaust system justice, I tried my best to put something together for others that are out there wondering what this exhaust is all about...So here you go.... |
:icon18: Finally! LOL, j/k congrats, man! excellent vid, I'd give you +1 buy imma rep'd out
|
GOD i love this exhaust, i wish they had some in stock, the wait continues.

I know right? Who would've ever thought....but great things come to those who wait!!! :bowrofl: |
I got my Berk HFC's installed today. I did everything myself in my garage. I outwitted the dreaded "DEMON BOLT" too! Thanks to my little friend (Liquid Wrench Penetrating oil). I was shocked myself that it came out as easy as it did. All I used was 1/2" extensions and sockets with a breaker bar. :happydance:
I took her for a spin and there is a definite sound difference under load. Plus the butt dyno was pretty happy. I can't wait to get my exhaust installed now! I will post pictures later :) |

I will be going the same route with the Brek’s HFC very soon. That being said, I’m a little worried about how loud it may get don’t want draw to much unnecessary attention , I also don’t want to spoil the wonderful sound I’m getting from my Stillen’s CBE , just like to deepen it and enhance it a bit! Thanks , Alex P.S. Any sound clips in the works? |
Quote:
As for the sound clip I will probably wait until I get my CBE installed. This might help you a little if you have not already seen them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHO1p...?v=qyZ1wryQ0C4 |
Getting my Berk exhaust installed over the weekend by Berk! Can't wait for the Synchro Rev Match to blip my throttle on downshifts! I'm not getting the HFC though. Anyone have stock cats with the Berk exhaust? How different is the tone and loudness compared to HFC + Berk CBE?
