Test Pipes Installation

Im getting my test pipes installed this week and have been looking around at different shops for quotes.

Most are telling me either 100 a hour or between 200-300 to put them in. I find that to be pretty steep. I wondered if anyone on here has gotten them installed and how much did it cost.

Thanks.

Do it your self dude, put that 2-3 hours of labor rip off in to more mods.

If you do not have the tools then invest that 300 bucks now and they will pay you back over time, if you need a guide for doing the TP's , look on here, there is a lot of information to be had.

I have done it soo many times now the last change took 45 min flat.
First time, granted was a biatch, but hey I and many have dealt with that.

GL which ever you decide, and to finally answer your original ?, I would say 150 from a shop would be fair.

I would do them myself but Im at my parents summer house in Florida, which has no tools. I'm here once every 3-4 years so the investment in the tools probably would not be worth it and I dont have a garage where I live to store them. Im all for the DIY though and would if it made sense.

With a lift and proper tools I thought it would be a 1 hour job. Idk why shops are quoting me so much.

Prolly bacause they have never done it on a Z and also they are removing the CATS, some shops get touchy about that sort of stuff, ask about in your local area on the forum and see if you can bung someone a 100 bucks to do it for you, it is worth that for the cut knuckles.
I guess if you cant work it some how and want them fitted you will have to bite the bullet or wait till you are home to do it your self.

Or try telling them what you are willing to pay, as you do know what it entails and dont appreciate trying to be ripped off. ;-)

I do my own installs, coilovers, cbe, etc. But I won't install test pipes myself. It can be a major pain to remove that one bolt. Just pay a shop to do it.
