Dyno Results! 299hp 233tq stock tune

I finally got her on the dyno thanks to AMD in Woodinville WA! Well known for their work on Built Audi S4 turbos, they found time to fit my Japanese car in the mix. I was warned this is the Mustang "heart break dyno" so im fairly content with the results of 299hp 233tq flat. Dyno sheet is at the end of the vid. Sorry for the poor quality, my DSLR died and i had to use my iphone.

Ambient temps were low to mid 70s, and we are fairly close to sea level. Mods are Stillen CBE, Berk HFC, and Gen 3 intakes with stock tune. COBB AP will be ordered this month, and back on for another dyno session. Hopefully i can squeak out a few more HP as it seems others with similar setups hit 310whp on a Mustang with a tune. Also I hope to bring my TQ number up as it is fairly low, and fix any AFR issues.

Friends at the shop were asking about open source tuning, as they suggested direct meth injection! If anyone knows if this is being done yet please let me know! Im pretty sure the GTR crowd is open source tuning.

Nice numbers.. I had similar numbers on my car cept I went with Injen intakes for the fitment.

Nice Daishi! Did you make 300 with your COBB AP? i was suprised i made 299 on stock tune, hoping for decent gains with the access port.

yes 300/235 w/ cobb. Your not really going to gain much if anything. Just cleans up your A/F ratio. Real quick. Hows your low rpm power? does it feel like sometimes you get any power loss sub 3k rpm? post a pic of your dyno sheet if you can.

300 is really like 320 on a dynojet?

335ish.. Theres about a 12% difference in power between a Mustang dyno and a Dynojet

kielbasa16 06-14-2010 12:16 PM

I dont think its accurate to generalize Dynojet as X% higher than another dyno. Maybe thats the average but just as a mustang dyno will yield different results than a dynojet, one dynojet will yield different results from another dynojet. I got my baseline done this weekend on a dynojet and put down ~270hp and ~230tq which is right in line with other peoples baseline numbers. Ill create a thread posting my results tonight as I will be installing my exhaust parts this weekend and will go back to get another reading.

This is True.. Ive done lots of research on the subject and 12% was the average number +/- a percent or 2.

Ill try to post the sheet after work, if you pause it at the end of the vid you can somewhat see the graph... but definitely feels sluggish in low rpms. AFR was 13.9 on my last run.

seems the only car in the shop i was able to best hp wise was the 2010 SC Audi S4 at 285awhp.. All the older turbo S4's are 500-600awhp. Told him he could drive it around the block if he wanted, and he replied... "not sure if i can handle the power!" hah

wow 13.9 take it easy on your car until you get it tuned thats pretty lean and wouldnt consider that safe at WOT.. The leanest you want your car is about 13.1 13.2 on the safe side.. Any higher than that and I wouldnt consider that safe.. After a Tune you may even lose top end power since your running so lean. But youll probably gain some power low end. Ill have to wait till i get home to check out the graph on the video since i cant watch the video at work.

Ahh i was wondering if i was running lean. I threw a lean code while in Texas. Once the computer was reset, the CEL went away and never came back. I hope i haven't caused any damage, as i have been anything but easy on my car for the most part.

In fact i just had a really hard run over the mountains and back for a Tom Petty concert this last weekend before my dyno run. Ill take er slow until i get my AP.

In case anyone wants to know, I averaged 24.5 MPG from San Antonio to Seattle. Made it from Vegas to Seattle in 1 day! I was trying to see if i could get decent MPG.

Yea just take it easy on it until you get your AP. You probably didnt cause any damage but I would hate to see anything happen. 13.9 at WOT in the upper rpm range is high. sub 3k rpm its not a problem but you dont want to be running 13.9 at 7k rpm

Updated the original post with pics of the dyno sheet.

Daishi 06-14-2010 10:41 PM

Your a/f is actualy fine bro. Your probably not really going to get any gains unless you lean out the top end a little.

Were these numbers SAE corrected?
