New remote-controlled exhaust: your thoughts?

Just saw this up on AutoBlog and thought it was decent sounding. Would like to see more videos of it though.

How awesome would it be to have this off at a red light with some punk *** revving his dodge neon next to you. Then just look over at him smile and turn it on......

I'm curios how the remote works. The video looks like the guy has an infrared controller like you'd use for a TV. Either that or low power radio device. Neither one will work well through metal, so how would you control it while driving?

I did some searches and saw somewhere that it is $4495 for just the muffler unit and control. Don't know if that's accurate.

If it's anything like the one I had on my Vette, it's just a simple RF on/off switch that triggers a solenoid fed by a Vacum reservoir. Nothing new. The Vette option was only $1200..

That vacuum control valve comes on the R32 of 2004, minus the remote.

Also all the VR6 engined Audi TT's. Porsche also had a sport exhaust option for the boxsters that used a similar bypass system:

I want one lol.

Hi the system is from a company called CTD in Germany and yes expensive is not the word 4,399.95 Euros so on current exchange rates it works out at $5,269.52 plus shipping for the US or £3640.71 plus shipping for us in the UK
I think I will be giving it a miss lol

Pretty cool but not $5k cool. You could almost get a supercharger kit for that much!

I don't want it, but I wonder if one could adapt the corvette NPP mufflers to fit on the Z?
