Nismo Intakes

Went to ZDayz 2010 in NC
came back with a desire to start working on my 370z.
I just called me Nissan dealer and they want $1300. for the Nismo intakes including install.
They said each intake was $500.
Has anyone else check to see what Nismo intakes cost
Greg

:rofl2: $500 per intake?

theDreamer 05-27-2010 01:46 PM

:wtf:
Did you laugh at them when they told you this because I would have.

Are they throwing in a pint of unicorn piss?

FuszNissan 05-27-2010 02:15 PM

Unicorn Blood, not piss.

Well the intakes are about $500.00
Labor is probably $150-$200

Someone said to me on this forum when I asked about them, that Nismo was not actually making them yet and may not... Is this true?

FuszNissan 05-27-2010 02:41 PM

You are correct, not for the 370Z. People are using the R tune for the 350Z. You just can't use the heat shields.

Makes me wonder if an intake can cause problems on the 370z. I know nissan wants to make money but refuse to release an intake.

Probably still in development... I doubt they "refuse" to release one.

to the OP, if you have the desire to work on your Z, intakes are fairly easy to install.... you shouldn't have to pay someone else to install a short ram intake, it's pretty easy to do on your own.

I wouldn't do Nismo intakes..for One-they sound way over priced. Two- you can get a better aftermarket intake for cheaper and more gain. But than again..Nismo parts come with warranty and will be better for the car's resale value.

AEM made the Nismo intakes for the 350Z, And it is my understanding that now that AEM has released their intake for the 370Z. We should see a Nismo intake fairly soon, And it will resemble the AEM intake, (shoker)!

For some reason I don't see nismo launching a long tube intake. But we shall see if a nismo intake comes out.

Just get the Stillen G3's and call it a day!

Install is pretty easy as well. Just grab a buddy to help you with taking the bumper off to make sure you don't drop it when you remove it. Other than that its a simple task, just follow the directions and DIY's on here and you can save yourself all the money on labor.

I took my bumper off to clean my filters the other day in about 10 minutes..

Tell them you only want the driver side intake.
