Sweet man, nice to see people putting effort in to proving stuff,,, you can actually get a pipe a little cheaper on ebay right now, I was one for 160 + 20 shipping, looked much the same.

Working on it anyway -- test pipes just came in the mail today :D

On that note -- do you know if anyone is selling just two tailpipe + muffler sections that will bolt up in lieu of the single OEM muffler?

^negative - I would have helped you out but recently sold my spare mufler that could have been a donar.

Rats. Well thanks anyway :tiphat:

Hey, actually, do you know or could you find out the angle and diameter of the OEM pipes before they join into the OEM Y section?

I was thinking I might just pick up a really nice 2-1 merge collector (maybe Burns?) and weld that on in place of the factory join.

A nice smooth transition right there might make a difference without having to replace the rest of the piping.

yo just installed my JIC y pipe, man the sound is deeper i love it. throttle response is better and the torque is definitely back in the game.

Nice -- where'd you get it and how much?

Is the OEM Y-pipe 2.5" to 3" too? If so, the high quality collector might work pretty well.

Kastley85891 08-07-2010 01:13 AM

I think 2.25 to 2.75 dude, sorry , missed previous post

No problem -- hmm. Would you mind checking that if it's off the car? I am seriously considering the collector idea.

Kastley85891 08-07-2010 09:28 AM

I would if I was there, its on car right now, but from memory that is correct, maybe Westwood can measure his stocker? I would whip it off but am in St Louis for another week ;-(

Cool! Glad you like it

If the OEM Y-pipe is off the car, would you mind checking the diameters for the inlet and outlet pipes for me? :tiphat:

2.5 into 3" or 2.5" into 2.75"?

Or are both in and out 2.5" -- that would be fairly restrictive...

corbin09 08-11-2010 06:37 PM

It is into 2.75 I believe. I know for sure it is not to 3. Our Y pipe has the same Inlet/Outlet diamaters as a HR350z
