Stock Exhaust

Hello, just joined and of course I went straight to the exhaust forum. Picked up a 2010 Anniversary on Sat. Amazing car but I can't get over how anemic the stock exhaust sounds. Love the look, just want a bit more volume and no drone. Any suggestions on how to mods the stock exhaust or what is the next best thing without going to loud? Berk looks closest to stock but seems a bit too loud.

HFC's. Adds great power, opens up the sound, half the cost of a full cat back system.

HFC and a nismo exhaust should keep it tame but give some grunt...

or test pipes on stock exhaust will make it sound a little raspy but very aggressive for very cheap

Congrats on your anniversary Z. Niiiiice. I would suggest some HFC's. That would give your car some growl without changing the exhaust

HFC's were my first mod, and lemme tell you, improvement over the stock note was huge, not to mention the 15whp gain was very very welcome.

Look into the ARK Exhaust, its flawless

I'm biased, but a GReddy SE would look great against the Anniversary paint and it sounds awesome. It's not too loud, has a nice, low growl, wakes up under load and goes nearly silent at cruise. I have one on my Roadster and wouldn't trade it. I have gotten nothing but compliments on the sound and look.

I can't speak to gains, but my butt dyno says I'm making some in the 3500-5000 rpm range -- right where I'd want them. I also recently noticed a little extra umph up on the top end (around 6800 or so) that I had not felt before.

No drone. Sweet exhaust note -- very refined. I narrowed my choices down to Fast Intentions and GReddy. Both are first-rate. In the end, I chose the GReddy because, with a Roadster, the sound quality of that one appealed to me more. The GReddy has a lower growl and isn't as loud or raspy under load as the FIs I heard.

That is not to say the FI is a bad exhaust. I really do love it and think it's a great value. It even looks a little better than the GReddy, in my opinion, though I've grown to love the blue tips on mine. I just found the GReddy to be a bit more refined and appropriate for the Roadster.

That all said, a FI with carbon mufflers would look pretty nice on a 40th Anniversary Z, too...
