Need to find replacement exhaust tips.
I just purchased a 09 370Z. It came with a Stillen exhaust but the orig owner must have bottomed out the back end and damaged the tips. He hack sawed them off.
I'm trying to find a company that sells 4.5" replacement exhaust tips with a 2.5 inlet that will compliment this car. I have tried to get a hold of Stillen to see if they offer any replacement tips, but they have not gotten back with me. Plus, I have noticed the Stillen system sticks out a lot farther than I like it. I found these but I need something just like this is 2.5 in 4.5 tip. dtm-spec Any help pointing me in the right direction would help. I'll need a local shop to weld the new ones on. Not sure what kind of inventory/options a local shop may have that wouldn't look cheap on this car. |
bump. Anyone?

Scraped my side mirror while pulling into the garage. I just hack sawed it off. :roflpuke2: |
Scraped the front air dam on a curb. It got hack sawed off too. :bowrofl:
Seriously now... You sure there aren't any other parts of the car missing? |
I purchased the car used. Only thing that I can figure is that the tips were bottomed out and damaged enough that the guy thought hacking them off would look better to the dealership he traded in at than the damage left as is.
The motordyne ones look promising. DTM-SPEC told me today it would take a few months to get in tips that size. Not sure I want to wait that long. The car is flawless inside and out.....but those tips just make you stare at the back and and go wtf?? |
Thanks nogoodname. Sent Motordyne an email to see if they offered the rolled titanium tipped version in the 2.5" inlet size.
Just wished they didn't cost twice the price as the ones from DTM.... |
Summit Racing has a pretty good selection of 2.5 to 4" make sure you get the right length though.

Any local exhaust shop should have tips. I'd check a few places out, so you can actually see in person how things will look.

anyone know where i can get two stainless steel 2.5 inch 90 degree bent pipes ? I want to redo my tips all together ....
I love those motordyne tips, and i dont always like the burnt Ti.. do you know if they sell them without the blue ? |
Thanks for all the info guys. Going to track down a local shop and get prices for welding new ones on and see what they have in stock as well. The motordyne tips are most likely what I will go with. The burnt Ti will look great against a carbon fiber rear diffuser.
Thanks guys. I'll update when I get some info from the shop. Since it's just tips, I can't imagine it will cost an arm and a leg to get them on. |

Having a new 370 in blue helps with this current crop titanium tips, I have the round rolled tip, but I had envisioned how nogoodname's motordyne slant cut would look like on my car I will trying to make that happen some time down the road for my car.:stirthepot:

my guess is the guy liked the tips and put them on w/e he bought after selling the z and said to hell with the next guy.

Stillen will get back to you....and tell you the exact thing they told me when I attempted to get replacement tips for my exhaust:
Sure, we'll replace your tips....just send us your entire exhaust. We don't replace just the tips. I screwed up the passenger side exhaust tip on my Z months ago and just gave up trying to replace it via Stillen. I could be wrong about this but that's the situation I ran into. |
