Failed Injen CAI install need help!
Well I've installed a ton of intake systems in the past, and while the installation of this Injen Dual CAI was moderately difficult it wasn't too bad, just a lot of steps.
Anyway, I hooked everything backup made sure all connections were secure in the the correct positions, reconnected the negative on the battery terminal and turned the car on(the bumper is still off). Now I have a check engine light that won't go away(I wait 2 minutes at idle) also my windows are now screwed up. When I open my door the window moves down as normal, but when I close the door it will not move back up! Also yes I can move the windows up and down as normal when in the car. PLEASE HELP! How do I remove the CEL and fix my windows? |
for the window try this

Thanks, that fixed the windows! Also, my friend mentioned he turned the car on without me and noticed he didn't connect one of the MAF sensors and immediately shut it off. I obviously made sure everything was connected again before I turned it on myself.
Will this permanately screw something up, how can I remove the CEL? |
check what the code is first, then try and remove the cel, you can use the accelerator reset cel manual way or a code reader. did you hit the maf or anything? and sometimes if u disconnect the battery too many times u can get a cel that faults the ecm because of that.

Only disconnected the battery one for installation. I was very delicate with the mafs. I tried revving the accelerator a little bit, didn't do anything.
|
Also I don't have anything to check the code
|
someone know or post the procedure on how to reset the Ecu? this would probably clear Op's cel light
|
alright then its most likely not the P0603 battery CEL. if the car isnt giving u any issues at all during driving or reving try heading to autozone real quick, they can check the code for you for free. and go from there.

Operations Procedures
1. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” (without starting engine) and wait 3 seconds. 2. Repeat the following steps (2a and 2b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds. 2a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD). 2b. Fully release the accelerator pedal. 3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 10 seconds until the CEL starts blinking. 4. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while the CEL is still blinking) 5. Wait about 10 second. 6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds. 7. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The CEL light will continue to blink). 8. Turn ignition switch to “OFF” position and now you can start the car. The CEL light should be gone. If the CEL light continues to remain ON, repeat the above steps. Timing is EXTREMELY critical to resetting the ECU you have to time it perfectly, or it won't work. |

too many steps, disconnect the negative terminal, hold brake in for 30 seconds, release. Reset complete.

Yeh that gas pedal procedure is a PITA, just disconnect the battery.
+1 rep to radio5boro, I remember that procedure from Motordynes instructions for plenum install on the Z33'. To the OP, glad it all worked out, now you can enjoy the power gains the Injen CAI has to offer. |
