ERZperformance 03-16-2010 06:20 PM

alright resOzsfa have sound clip for us

Krept 03-17-2010 08:57 PM

Just put in my order too! My first mod, looking forward to seeing what gains I can pull.

CBRich 03-18-2010 09:25 PM

Ordered. Starting my daily dose of PB Blaster on the bolts tomorrow. Hopefully a week or two of penetration should help me out when the time comes.

ERZperformance 03-24-2010 03:45 PM

any received their Test pipe yet

CBRich 03-24-2010 06:32 PM

less posting and more spraying or you might have the same crap I did. I still have to find a shop to get that one bolt off.

CBRich 03-25-2010 01:46 PM

I think I'll be attempting the install next Thursday as I only have one day off a week. Hopefully this PB Blaster thing works.

370Z JT 03-25-2010 01:54 PM

newb question, but are the resonated test pipe quieter than the high flow cats?

CBRich 03-25-2010 03:23 PM

That's a negatory.

Krept 03-25-2010 09:11 PM

Installed mine today, took about 2 hours rounded off the top side cat bolts but not too bad overall. Sound is surprisingly MUCH louder, a bit of rasp and some whooshing but overall i'm happy with the sound. The fumes i'm going to have to get used to, not sure if theres a coating on the pipes thats burning off or if its strictly the unfiltered exhaust. Hard to tell right now if its a noticeable power gain, need to get out and do some more driving and let the ECU supposedly adjust. Great bang for the buck upgrade for the price if your willing to deal with the toxic fumes! :D

what did you do after you round the bolts?

ERZperformance 03-26-2010 03:54 PM

what exhaust you have Krept

Krept 03-26-2010 04:23 PM

Stock exhaust and it now sounds extremely aggresive. I can't believe how much it changes the tone, for the better though in my opinion. I hate to compare to an exotic but it almost has a 360 type rasp to it. As for the bolts that were rounded off we just used a special "grabber" socket that digs into the bolt. Only draw back is still the smell, I can smell the fumes lingering on my clothes after a brief ride.

ERZperformance 03-26-2010 04:43 PM

thanks for the reply . post sound clips on youtube if you have time.

NYBladeZ 03-26-2010 04:47 PM

TP's really make the stock exhaust come alive, Nissan really suffocated the car, post sound clips, any CEL's? Did you have to use a fouler?

CBRich 03-26-2010 07:53 PM

This is weak. My wife missed the shipment.

ERZperformance 03-26-2010 08:18 PM

She must be out shopping.

HFC is more quieter.

kevin.z 03-26-2010 09:51 PM

just a quick question, are the hp gains for testpipes the same regardless of whether it is berk, gtm, f.i., or erz? I think it should be all the same since it is just a straight pipe. also, do u gain less power if your testpipe is resonated than non-resonated testpipes? I hope not

Trese7en 03-26-2010 10:11 PM

^ Yes gains would be very similar from all those companies as there is really only 1 way to make straight pipes...and no I don't believe resonators have any impact on gains.

VancouverZ34 03-26-2010 10:11 PM

do they come with proper gaskets?
just to confirm,
1. it won't light CEL
2. it won't idle rough
is that correct?

and please PM me the price including shipping to Canada + applicable taxes.
Thanks,

Alex

ERZperformance 03-27-2010 01:12 PM

its comes with cel fix, but we can't guarantee 100% you will not get a CEL.
one car might get it and another will not.

gasket is included

ERZperformance 04-14-2010 04:30 AM

How does your exhaust sound

CBRich 04-14-2010 07:38 AM

I had two good days of driving with my test pipes on the stock exhaust.

The sound is nice and deep with just a very slight rasp at around 4100 RPM. Not annoying at all and barely noticeable.

Fitment was perfect. I placed the pipes on the header and loosely bolted them there. Then I connected the X pipe to the test pipes and the muffler sections and loosely bolted those up. Went back and tightened it all up and didn't have any issues or adjustments that needed to be made.

Weight savings are as shown above and it doesn't hurt that they give you a little more room to work under the car without getting cut up by the stock cat heat shields.

These pipes are most certainly worth the money you pay for them.

STi 5 04-14-2010 03:58 PM

I received mine yesterday and plan to install on Friday. Hopefully can get a video up for those who would like to hear these on the stock exhaust.

ERZperformance 04-15-2010 05:02 AM
