One thing I'm curious on is if there is any rasp when the CAI isn't installed and the ERZ/Invidia combo is.

Invidia CBE has been installed and I'm happy to say that the original OE sound is intact but with amplification. :)

I will post up the dyno charts I have from the mechanic I went with.

Awesome, I am looking forward to seeing the dyno. I have been interested in getting an exhaust, as of late. This exhaust looks very similar to the Berk exhaust. I wonder if it performs similarly, as well as the sound.

Not sure about the Dyno numbers, but I would certainly talk to Victor@SpeedElement about a great price on this exhaust.

And there is no wait unlike this 6 months (if ever) on the Berk CBE :stirthepot:

Thanks a lot for the advice. I have been in contact already with Victor. The great thing is, they are nearby my house :-).

He's done me proud so far

HFC are back in stock now PM me for best price.

gaveup 09-08-2010 05:27 AM

fyi the db weighting being used in this video is straight up cheating. Expect somewhere around +10db for the real db level.

coaster 09-08-2010 06:06 PM

My invidia exhaust is being installed right now at Speed Element. So far, the packaging and quality of the exhaust looks top notch.

djpathfinder 09-08-2010 06:17 PM

You'll be very happy with it!

Definitely loving it. The sound is a lot deeper, although the smell right now is a bit strong. Also, is it hard to adjust the tips. I haven't looked at it yet, but am hoping it's pretty simple.

Noooooo you got it before me!!!! I was gonna get it last week but things came up. We both have PW Z's in San Jose. Maybe one day I can listen to it. Did you get HFCs as well?

Hey man, you'll definitely love it. For the price, you can't go wrong. Let me know if you want to check it out sometime. I'm right by the SJ airport :-). Good luck. Also, you should talk to the guys at Speed Element if you decide to get it. They treated me very well.

I've had this installed for 1000 miles now (roughly) and I can say that the noise from the exhaust has calmed significantly but the low-end responsiveness has stayed if not increased over time.

At cruising speeds you barely notice the exhaust has been changed from within the cabin.

At throttle, even slight throttle input, you'll hear the car become more "lively" through the exhaust. I'd comment on WOT but I usually don't stay in gear long enough to listen to this all too often. I know that it does get authoratative in sound at WOT but I don't feel it's obnoxious by any stretch.

On deceleration, near end of decel, there is a slight deep flutter sound it'll make. Kinda reminds me of the turbo flutter sound you get after installing a more open exhaust.

I'm still waiting on my dyno charts to post. They were done with a Mustang Dyno so the numbers are more realistic than a Dynojet.

HFC are back in stock PM me for a killer price.

ERZperformance 09-26-2010 01:37 AM

ERZ HFC are re branded under CNT Racing

NXTAZEE 09-29-2010 01:25 AM

I've recently been thinking about adding HFC's to my Invidia Gemini exhaust. I wonder if the Invidia HFC is a better choice.

Invidia is also a great choice I sell them also.

edub370 05-23-2011 11:45 AM

question... not to thread jack or anything, but has anyone dyno'd HFC's vs. test pipes?

ANMVQ 05-23-2011 12:19 PM

from what I have seen and heard, It was a diff of under 5 WHP for TP's over HFC. OP great write up and work.

HR350zzz 05-26-2011 02:29 AM

you guys using these hfc's..are u using an extra extension on the 02 sensor or is the built in extension fine.

I just ordered & installed the CNT hfc from nissangen's groupbuy. There are built in 02 extenders and I have not received a code(only had it on for like 2 days). It definitely makes the exhaust sound a lot deeper and louder, and hiss is VERY minimal. There is sometimes an exhaust burble sound, some people like it, some people dislike it.

HR350zzz 05-27-2011 03:10 AM

^thanks im about to order a set from the group buy also..i have a hr 350 but we use the same cats. I already have the invidia gemini should sound pretty similar to the OP's..and good to hear about no cel yet

wait, you drive a 350z. there are two points for the 02 censor on the hfc, but only one has the extender (the one i used for the 370), not sure if the 350 uses the hole with the extender.

OK guys….here it is. I have been collecting footage over the past few months. You will find below all the sound readings that should quantify that adding HFC’s onto an Invidia Gemini CBE does not tip the scales on db levels. I am SOOO glad I made the purchase. The butt dyno felt major gains with the adding the HFC to the already existing CBE and CAI setup. Not to mention…the HFC’s will add a slightly raw sound to your setup that will put a huge smile on your face when you hear it driving away.

I am one of those guys who spend a lot of time watching, and re-watching the exhaust videos and contemplating weather a CBE and HFC setup would be too loud. I would like to stress…I have a fairly low tolerance to loud exhaust noise. I believe the Invidia Gemini and ERZ combo is a perfect setup. It is ONLY loud at WOT. Daily cruising readout show only 70-80 db average.
Also…a special thx to ERZ for their unbeatable price and great customer service.

So here are the results…

Stock DB – I do not have stock WOT or 80mhp cruising read outs (if someone wants to give it to me that would be great)

Invidia Gemini and Stillen CAI (A weight)
0-100mph (WOT) – 85 db
Launch (outside car) – 90db
80mph Cruising – 77-82 db
Day to Day Driving - 70-80 db

Invidia Gemini, Stillen CAI, ERZ HFC’s (A weight)
0-100mph (WOT) – 87 db
Launch (outside car) - 93
80mph Cruising – 78-82 db
Day to Day Driving – 70-80 db

Some other interesting facts….
-Invidia Gemini and ERZ combo has NO HISS. I believe all other documented combos have hiss.
-Invidia Gemini and ERZ combo has only a small amount of RASP (typical with HFC add on) To be honest with you I think the RASP sounds kinda cool…gives it a more aggressive sound IMO
-Between the CBE or the HFC’s – the butt dyno says HFC’s you feel way more gain. I still cannot believe that after I have the CBE and CAI installed that the HFC’s felt so much gain. High RPM shifts pull so much harder.
-Check out spearfish25's thread …. also a good ERZ review

AlphaSnacks 06-09-2011 06:44 PM

This exhaust is indeed fantastic.
