To cat or not to cat ?

Hi All ,
I guess this question will end up in personal taste but , I am about to start customising my 370 GT roadster (2011) first port of call is exhaust, due to a sensitive wife I am going for a valved system and narrowed it down to two , a cat back from tarmac sports (£1800) or a manifold back with hfc from Powerflow (£2000)
Am reading that the hfc are not worth the power gain and could give reliability problems with cracking later in its life ?
Any thoughts?

Just get a Catback and be done with it.

I was unable to find a picture of a Powerflow Cat for 370z. Does it not employ the same lower bolting at the transmission as OE?

If not nor did mine; however, the pipes touched the OE bracket where the bolt would thread with OE Cats, I therefore cut the bracket at the proper angle to the HFC pipe and welded the pipe directly to the bracket for support.

I don't have disassembly anywhere in the area but if it's required for any repair I can simply cut through the weld and re-weld.

Assuming these are UK based companies as I've never heard of either. A valved catback system(closed) with stock cats will likely be almost stock.

HFC will have a bit more volume. Boosted cars will burn them out, but NA, you shouldn't ever have an issue.

Not sure on your budget or exchange rates, but Armytrix is another quality, valved option.

Or you could buy some valves from ebay and make your own valved exhaust

Good to hear Armytrix is also recommended here. We'll work on my friend's new 370Z project after he sold his F250. We will finish installing the headache rack and undercover tonneau covers on the truck and will be delivered on the 24th. He's on a budget and the Armytrix is one of his choices.
