Throttle body relearn
Am i able to clean the throttle bodies one day then do the procedures the next morning due to the heat so my coolant is cold enough or do i have to do all within the same day or pretty close apart

If I'm not mistaken, you are supposed to bring the engine up to normal operating temperature prior to performing the TB relearn. Make sure all accessories are off, too.

I believe Jar is correct.
I saw your post in this thread earlier today, but of you scroll up to Scott's directions for the relearn procedure, under "Idle Air Volume Learning (Throttle Position Learning)", number 3 says to bring it up to temperature. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/top...ink_source=app Custom ported and CNC throttle bodies, upper and lower manifolds Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk |
From what i came across i think its the second part of the procedure that the coolant temp has to be below 77°f, after that then the car needs to be at normal operating temp to finish the procedure. I could for sure be wrong though. That being said i just wanted to know if i can clean the tb's today then leave it till the morning to do the procedure so i can achieve that below 77°f temp, being that its pretty hot these days

For the TB Closed Position Learning procedure, it does note for the engine to be cooled before warming up. The Idle Air Learning procedure also has a specific temp range.

 did you ask other people to do your homework for you in grade school?
What I posted is verbatim from the Factory Service Manual. You can verify the Motivate video if you want. Personally, I hate watching videos. People like hearing themselves talk, so there's always too much extra bs to sift through; that or the video is too short with little to no useful information. I will say that Motivate seems to have good videos. You're probably safe but the risk is on you. |
