Help with F.I. exhaust
 

So I just placed my order for a F.I. exhaust today, ordered TDX with 18" resonators, cf mufflers, and ss resonated test pipes. For anyone with this exact setup, will this be loud enough for me? Or should I have gone with 12" resonators or non-resonated? Just want to feel at ease that I wont regret my decision once its all on the car, and I have yet to find a video of a Z with this exact setup so I would know how it will sound :/

The 18" SS CBE is loud enough on it's own.

CF mufflers and resonated test pipes will be plenty loud.

I ordered HFCs with my CBE and ended up selling the HFCs right after I installed the CBE because i didn't want it any louder!

I'm thinking this same thing when I order (soon!) but I'm pretty sure I will go with the 12" resonators simply because I am young and therefore allowed to be loud! :p

Well I'm young too, only 22, so if I stick with the 18", I will let you know in a few weeks when they are installed, how they sound.

Everyone seems to be very happy with them. I just wish I could grab a 12" clip, but I haven't been able to find one around.

I'm supposed to get FI resonated test pipes, CBE with 18" CF resonators on Thursday ...per the shipping info. I went with the resonated test pipes and 18" resonators to help mellow out (not get rid of) some of the low to low-mid range frequency noise. For me it not about how loud, but about sound quality.

Post 1 has interior and exterior sound clips. That thing is roaring.

I posted an iphone video of 12" res SS setup in my little mini review in the main thread.

I don't think I can comment on the sound yet though because ambient temperature seems to mean a lot to this exhaust. I don't think I've driven it in temperatures above freezing yet. It quiets down a lot when it gets warmed up but when it's still cold there are some rpm/speed ranges where it sounds like a tractor to me. :)

I'd like to see other vids before I make my choice. I'm pretty sure I will be happy with either, though. I'm just dying to see one of someone driving around with 12"s.

F.I. catback, carbon fiber mufflers and 12 inch resonators with Berk HFC's.

For me its not how loud the exhaust is. Its the drone at 2-3k but I live with that. If your getting this exhaust you must want to hear it so Id go with the 12s. Im a little older than some and I dont like over bearing exhausts but do like the rummble of a nice exhaust note and this one has it. Now if doing the full exhaust with HFCs than 18s might be better. Either way you will like the sound and it will turn heads. Im thinking about the FI HFCs with resonators and hoping it wont be too loud and waiting for a sale or HFC war between the companies.
