Nismo Exhaust

Hey guys,
I currently have a 2010 370z Nismo.

I am happy with the exhaust but was wondering if I can make it louder without replacing the entire thing.

This guy I know told me that I can just get a Muffler for it. But I honestly have no idea what he is talking about.

Any suggestions???

you bought a nismo and dont know what a muffler is? :gtfo2: im just kidding. i guess everyone has to start somewhere. HowStuffWorks "How Mufflers Work" this should help

you can replace the Cat-Back Exhaust (CBE) if you want, the Nismo is quieter than most.

before you do that I would recommend replacing the Catalytic Converters with High Flow Cats (HFC.)

normally I would recommend Test Pipes instead of the HFC's or maybe even Long Tube Headers (LTH,) but based off of your apparent experience level you should opt for the legal method.

Berk, Fast Intentions (FI) and Stillen all make very popular options. look under the Intake and Exhaust category.

FAST INTENTIONS EXHAUST. Don't have it yet but working on it..car's paint job is first on the list :) The Stillen exhaust sounds good too, but I think it takes away from the VQ37 gurgle

Stillen in known for HFC rasp. Pick wisely

added berks to my exhaust (09 nismo) and it sounds perfect to me. no rasp, not too loud, plus a little extra hp.

I was getting a battery in my key fob at the dealership when a nismo drove right by me. I was surprised at how quiet the exhaust was considering the gaping hole in the exhaust outlet. I was expecting some rumble, whine or something???
I would get an HFC and also get the nismo CAI (or cai of your choice). It may help in overall sound.

I know you said you don't want to replace the entire exhaust but I did just that recently with a Fast Intentions CBE and now it sounds exactly the way I like it.

thought the Nismo Intake was a pop charger system?

AFAIK the only true CAIs out are the Stillen G3 and the Injen. AEM is still in development.

Hmm...changing the cats to high-flow increases the level of sound and changes tone? Interesting...will have to check that out.

We're running a special on our High Flow Catalytic Converters and 2 1/2" True Dual Exhaust.

Both of which by them selves will give you a good gain in power as well as an amazing sounding exhaust! We've had multiple customers come in and order both of them together, and separately. They've all left with outstanding results and huge smiles on their faces.

If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM.
