Broke Stud off in Factory Manifold
Okay Boys, so I done screwed the pooch on this one.
While installing my art pipes, i broke off the stud in the drivers side exhaust manifold (at the 3 bolt flange) I was already pissed at the project at the time so i just slapped everything back together. Obviously, I now have an exhaust leak. So I now have 3 options: 1) Replace the factory manifolds with shorties (I was thinking Z1) 2) Remove the factory manifold and drill out the f*cked stud 3) Say f*ck it all and buy longtubes and sell the art pipes. I was leaning towards option 1 but I know there was a redesign of the header in the late models. I'm not sure if going the shorty route is even worth the trouble. I did try to search but i can't find anything other than "shorty bad, long tube good" without anything to back it up. Advice? Opinions? I'll even accept name calling. |
See if Z1 has their set of shorties in stock.

2 is by far the cheapest and least work, and gets you up and running the soonest.
Also, don't the Z1 shorties need 350z/DE test pipes to mate? Feel like I have read that on here. |
