Was wondering about a resonator delete.

I purchased a Top Speed Pro1 Axleback, and wanting to do a resonator delete on top of the axleback, is that okay?

Would that cause any smog issues or break any warranties?

I'm pretty sure having an aftermarket exhaust is a felony punishable by death in California

Yes. If you cut up the exhaust they sent you they probably aren't going to warranty it. Duh. You probably should check with local authorities regarding smog. There may be a noise ordinance to consider as well.

All a resonator does is, well, resonate. It does not affect emissions. As a rule-of-thumb, any mods downstream of the catalytic converter are OK. But you need to check local laws to make sure.

As far as warranties; what kind of warranty do you have on a 2009 model vehicle?

Bought the car used from a Audi dealership for $13k and they threw in the Audi platinum warranty for 5 years on top for free.

I was just thinking of throwing in the axleback and call it a day. Don't want it to be too loud, my street already has the police coming every now and then since there is quite a few nice cars on the street (corvettes, a few camaros, a S class).

Like @SouthArk370Z said. If you have cat-back only and left headers and cats alone then you’ll be fine. Resonator delete just adds noise. Personally, I run long-tube headers and full non-resonated, no-cat exhaust from Fast Intentions and it’s loud and smells like fuel but I still pass emissions test in GA due to the sensors location. This will depend by exhaust and state emissions. I wouldn’t try this in California.

If you decide on axleback, check out Nameless Performance. They have a new axleback with or without mufflers. Excellent quality. Welded tips. Just got mine today and will install in the next week.
