Intake Question
 

Im in the Navy. And Im planning on buying a 2010 370z when i go home on leave. I want to put an Intake in as my first mod. I already read form other forums that the Short rams suck. So What Brands are the best?

Stillen G3 for max gains.

Injen long-tubes are probably the easiest to install/maintain, but the Stillen beats them by a measurable margin.. about 4-6 hp or so.

Yeah if I recall, the Injen long real CAI's run to right in front of the wheels. and the Stillen will run in right behind the front Nissan Emblem (sides)

If you live in a rainy area and don't have a bad weather car, the Injen might be a less favorable decision. However I had my Slowica w/ that optin w/ no problems on a stock height. (which was still fairly low)

The stillen's could possibly use something like the Mine's vents for the intake. Then again, for a stealth look, there are some nice DIY's w/ some dryer ducting ^_^

The Injen should be fine even with heavy rain, I believe m4a1mustang has had them for awhile now. The Stillen with the Mine's front end will not really work as the Mine holes are off from where the Stillen filters sit. If the holes were closer to the Nissan logo it would be perfect, if you want better airflow wait for the Stillen front bumper soon.

Yup. The injen filters sit in sealed compartments so rain water is not going to contact the filters. Now if you drive through a couple feet of water you might have a problem. :)

+1 Injen ..... not sure though if Injen has the hydro lock prevention feature like Nismo's CAI for the 350Z. Can anyone confirm this?

I agree with RCZ. The G3s are proven to provide the best gains. I chose the Injens because no one had them yet and I wanted to take one for the team and test them. I like them but there isn't really any reason not to go with the g3. More power for about the same price. Though some people have psychological issues with oiled filters.

Dry filters was the reason I choose Injen. I would give up a wee bit of flow for better filtration. Stillen is prolly using an oiled cotton based K&N type air filter. On the other hand Stillen' air filter could be swapped out for an Amsoil dry filter. Injen had the hamburger wrap around CAI with dry filter for the 350Z. I wonder why Injen went with the Nismo 350Z CAI design for the 370Z? Looking for more power, better flow? Or they did not want the same design as Stillen's?
