Muffler

So.... are there any true aftermarket AXLE-back mufflers for Nismo, besides Akropovich and Meisterschaft? both of which are $$$$$$$

Also Top speed pro 1 makes one but haven't heard too much about it.

I keep coming up with full systems, Pipes (resonated and non) or mufflers for plain jane 370Z.

Googled and this is what I came up with.

You can got the AAM S line route.

I currently have the AAM resonated S-line. A tad too loud for my taste. Youtube videos don't do the sound justice.

They sound great, but it is very loud.

I want deep tone, without the extreme. maybe I'm reaching here, but there are 3 examples I listed, only one is affordable but not much info on them.

I just took mine to a muffler shop and had them do a muffler delete and weld the stock tips on it. Cost me $90, and I get complements on it all the time.

AAM short tails w or w/o resonators, beluga axleback, meistershaft. Most of the muffler replacements are the axlebacks AFAIK. Beluga and AAM are pretty loud I think.

AAM also sells a double muffler axleback unit. Not much louder then stock, however it does have a nice low rumble: AAM Competition - Nissan GT-R, 370Z Turbo Performance Specialists

You are between a rock and hard place. The only other option I no is getting a Nismo axleback.

You can also remove the rear "mega-can" and replace with a pair of Spintech SuperPro 9000 series or the 300 series if you want it quieter. Size is around 4" x 8.5" x 13" and they tuck up and under the rear valance OK

You will need a can of black muffler paint though

Thanks. I will look into that.

I didn't think that replacing with HFC and keeping existing muffler would change sound. That muffler is a tragedy. Heavy and makes a nice car sound like a Honda Accord. :icon14:

FI makes their cbe to fit the Nismo.

Depending on what mufflers you would decide to get it could make it sound like a fart can. I would skip the idea on the muffler though. Get the AAM resonated or non-resonated Short Tail exhaust it will be a excellent bang for the buck.

I already have the AAM resonated Short tails. Just a bit loud and causing buzzing/vibration in rear hatch that is the most annoying part.

I've got the AAM resonated short tails and just installed the AAM HFCs and it's very loud. Sounds awesome, but loud. So I'm in the same boat as you (I'm still on the stock Nismo mid pipe though) and am thinking about getting the S-Line axle-back. I think combined with the HFCs it would sound good but not be as loud.
I wonder if my local exhaust shop can just splice some small resonators in-line on the stock mid pipe, but I'm not sure that's an option at all.
