factory nismo catback exhaust

I was thinking about upgrading my 2016 nismo and buying the Nissan factory nismo catback exhaust system for $1850. Does anyone have it and if so do you like it?

That won't be an upgrade. Skip that one and buy an aftermarket cat back if you're just after sound, or buy other parts since the OEM Nismo exhaust is pretty good and there won't be a huge difference in power from upgrading.

That's a fairly high price to pay for a mediocre (gains) system. I see you're in Philly, if you want to swing by and hear a Motordyne on my wife's car or a Fast Intentions on mine, you're welcome to do so.

have a 16 Sport, put on FI 18" resonated, way too much drone, sold it and bought used Nismo dual exhaust for $300, love it sounds much better than FI or stock sport..
found mine on craigslist,, Nissan recyclers might have one,,

That's why I suggested he hear some real world examples. Personally, before I did headers, I felt the unresonated FI were way too quiet and subdued. My wife absolutely loves her Motordyne. I don't think I could deal with the near silence of a Nismo exhaust.

Thanks guys. I'd definitely like to hear the fast intentions catbacks on your car. Looks like our weather will be extra sucky for the next few days though.

I was a little confused by their website with the 3 choices for pipes, straight resonated etc. I like a little bit of a growl but I don't like the sounds I have heard under heavier acceleration on some youtube videos, sounds like burping or something, probably that it sounds like a v-6 and not a v-8.

I owned the car in the pic for about 20 years and loved it but the open headers by my ears got a little annoying at times, so I don't want any changes I make to the Z to annoy me:)

Haha we can wait till the weather improves a bit. Fair warning, I do have long tube headers as well, so it still sounds like fast intentions, just a whole lot more of fast intentions if you take my meaning. If you like the sound now, originally it was just a much quieter version. I'll be around this weekend. Sending you a pm.

If you want a nismo exhaust I got one sitting in my garage. I'll sell it to you for 300.. came off of my 2015 370z nismohttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f332f5c229.jpg

AAM S-Line mid-pipe and axle-back for my Nismo. Love it and no regrets. Also added the Berk HFCs. Nice, aggressive sound. Only a bit of drone at 2K. Other than that, racecar all the way.

If you have a nismo then you should already have the better nismo exhaust (the factory gets the H pipe version that actually makes more power than the aftermarket nismo s type if I’m remembering right). Fairly sure the gains you get going aftermarket won’t be as big as us base/sport users get going aftermarket so then it’s all about sound, so you’ll need to do some sound clip hunting. The F.I. I heard I liked a lot but would probably be too much for me as a DD these days and I don’t prefer the visual of the huge mufflers showing so I went with Stillen which is probably very close to the oem nismo maybe a little louder but absolutely no drone (doesn’t seem to be the popular choice anymore, fads come and go), the motordyne clips sound impressive too but haven’t heard in person and the Tomie is you just want a race car.

FYI, the Motordyne is marginally louder than FI.
