I have a 12inch res fi cbe

Elmo370z 02-26-2016 01:44 PM

So i got a re-tune because i knew something was off on my first tune. I went from 316 to 334whp and 270tp on uprev. Feels much better

Biggest thing i came to find out was at 2-3k it wasnt getting fuel my air fuel was at 18.1, then went lean around 11.5 towards top end, not. I wasnt pleased with my first tune. After i took it to get re tuned he fixed that problem as you can see via the dyno sheet and i picked up across the board and for you peak number guys i did make 334 which is 18whp more compared to my last tune.

When he did a base run it made the same.power as my last tune.

I was contemplating going LTH vs RTPs...question is... how bad Is the drone, and other than sound, any difference in WHP? smell? and obviously price/install time/complexity?

I'm asking because I'm also waiting for a F.I. SS TDX w/12" Resonators, so LTHs or Rest TPs? :ugh2:

Drone isn't bad only from 2-2,300 rpms. Other than that is really freaking quiet. Doing 90 on the highway and i can barely hear it, it only comes alive when i mash on it. Sounds wise from tp's ( i had non res fi tp) the tone was a little deeper, but you definitely get the VQ growl. I never got dyno tune with my test pipes so i couldn't tell you how much i picked up from switching over. I made 334whp with this cbe and intakes. Smell, you can definitely smell the gas, but only gets bothersome when sitting in hot traffic, i just roll my windows up and turn on the AC and laugh at the people behind me. Price wise it was well worth to it me, Id pay it again if i had to start all over. Install was pretty straight forward, The space is very tight on the drivers side, passenger side came off within a hour. Just have a decent amount of tools to get into weird angles and soak all the bolts in pb blast before you start (it will save on headaches and i would use all 6 point impact sockets where applicable). One last thing having a lift is a plus, but can be done on jack stands. Hope this helps.

Fern,

If you decide to go with long tube headers, I'd highly recommend we switch your exhaust system to include 18" resonators. When paired with LTH's they produce a deep smooth tone and keep interior noise to a minimum.

If you'd like to make a change to your order, please send me an email.

Thank you,

- Kevin

How bad of a smell do you actually get with the headers on, is it really noticeable in normal conditions?
