Rattle at idle / 4K RPM after cat back install? Muffler on evap canister heat shield

Just as the title states, I installed my cat back and sounds amazing! But I had an unwanted rattle. Traced it down to my passenger side muffler canister is sitting on the metal heat shield for the EVAP canister. Exhaust shop threw a piece of rubber between the two pieces and it stopped rattling but it fell out sometime on the interstate last night. So clearly not a long term fix.

My question is, can I remove the heat shield and have clearance? So the muffler won't hit it? Will it get to hot and melt the EVAP canister? I have some of that high heat reflective tape up to like 2000 degrees I could cover the side of the evap canister in. I don't see it getting that hot under there. Or is that heat shield not gonna prove enough clearance? Anyone removed it? Or have another solution?

Pic for reference. The evap canister heat shield edge is just sitting on the passenger muffler and it rattles when at 4K or so RPM and idling.

Common. Most people either remove the heat shield or modify it to clear. Dealer's choice!

Okay cool I was just gonna remove it. I took it on a pretty spirited drive and it's def hot down there afterwards but it didn't seem hot enough to melt through that. Especially if I wrap in my high temp reflective tape on the plastic EVAP canister. Thanks for the heads up! Just wasn't sure who did what.
