P0106 is a permanent code?
Some please help....I just plug in a code reader and it says P0106 is a permanent code. How do I remove the code? I googled it and it says to do a "Universal Trip Drive Pattern" ...what do that mean? Do i have to drive the car around for awhile to clear the P0106 code?

P0106 is a MAP error. You may need to replace the MAP sensor.
The UTDP should be in the FSM (link in my sig). Google is your friend. ;) |
engine light was on, I cleaned the MAP sensor and now engine light is off....code reader says P0106 is a permanent code

Permanent, in this context, doesn't mean forever. If the ECM thinks everything is OK, you should be able to clear the DTC using your code reader. You may have to go through a UTDP before it will clear (it may auto-clear upon successful UTDP). FSM will have details on what triggers a P0106 (and other DTCs) and what it takes to clear it.
Tip: FSM is a bunch of PDFs. Most PDF readers have a "Search Folder For..." (or similar wording) command that will allow you to search for text (eg, P0106, MAP) in all PDFs in a folder. |
Thanks for the info and help!
